Earthworm Jim 1 + 2 + 3D is only about $12 here on gog.
on steam it's $20.
Have a nice day, GOGers.
No one is forcing you to use steam brother, I happen to love it but I buy every old game here on GOG unless they happen to have a promo on steam.
Spellforce is another example, 15$ on steam, 10$ here. And the steam version has no extras. Fallout 1 and 2 come to mind also, they are cheaper here too.
That however, means nothing, my steam client is still online 24/7 and I check for new deals pretty much every day, and as far as deals go, like it or not, steam rocks.

Funny you mention that. Last week I bought Spellforce Universe for $0.90 at Gogamer.com.
Yeah, I saw that, pretty funny. Only major complaint I have against Steam is their moronic prices. You can probably count on one hand the number of games worth buying there at regular price -- which is why I wait on sales. Oh and I wouldn't say they 'rock' for deals... the deals usually just put the games at what they're reasonably worth at retail.

Only thing I use Steam for nowadays is for bargain game deals (as in $1 - $5 games that are normally $20 - $30), or Valve games.
Any game that you can find on GoG and on Steam should be bought off GoG for sure though. No DRM, extras and lower prices than Steam.
Hm this should really have gone in the bash thread.
I completely stopped using Steam after they started charging in Euros instead of dollars. Why pay MORE + DRM when 99% of the time you can get the game on a nice DVD with box and manual for LESS money importing it from the UK to Spain?.
I much prefer buying downloadable games directly from the devs or publishers like Torchlight (from Runic) or using Direct2Drive that still charges in dollars or pounds (translating prices, not making them even).
So of course no-one's forcing me to use Steam, but I used to like Valve a lot and I don't anymore.
I like steam.

This.
And of course, Interplay has no say in the pricing. No, they have to surrender their games to the evil machinations of Valve.

Delixe: This.

Huh. Not true in my experience.
both oddword games at steam-$10 total (bought both on the sale for total of $5)
at gog-$20
total of gog games that have had problems running on my pc-4
steam -0
I just feel like arguing

I also have to disagree with this. For if it were true, only games that require Steam would be in my account.
put me on the record as saying I also disagree.

In all fairness some of steam's deals are pretty damn good, others are kind of average and some of them are still more expensive than physical alternatives even when they're on sale.
I don't think any digital distributor is ever going to beat that sale on 3d Ultra Minigolf Adventures... 14 copies and I wasn't even down $2... funniest typo ever
