Primate: I can give it a try. Thanks.
Anyone know how it compares with the first game?
Its a huge expansive game, this time set in Africa rather than an island paradise.
Its a damned fine game, visually looks stunning as the Dunia Engine can render HUGE open spaces with no difficulty. It also scales really well so works on most systems. I was running it on my laptop which was a standard Pentium Dual Core, 4Gb ram and a mobility Radeon 4530. I managed to run it DX9 mode, 1280x720 resolution and all the settings medium to high. Still looked really good and played smooth as silk Now with my new system everything is maxxed out at 1920x1080, DX10 and it looks even better!
Only thing that bugs most people with it including me is the speed at which enemies respawn. You can go through a checkpoint and capture it, then head further up the road and do an objective, then when heading back 10 mins later all the enemies are back at the checkpoint. If you can get past this gripe then its fantastic. Its literally more of an annoyance than anything else.
Another minor gripe when you start out is how quick weapons can deteriorate also, so collect the diamonds and upgrade the weapons you use most to get longer out of them. Nothing worse than being in a huge firefight and your weapon starts to jam frequently. This can make things a bit more tense though and you can tell when a weapon is well worn as it starts getting lightly rusty.
I absolutely love the game. Clocked up 40 hours on single player so far and about three quarter of the way through roughly. Really enjoy the game and would recommend it to anyone if they can look past the minor issues.
Dont enter me for this as I have Farcry 2 already, just replying to user asking about the game
