fuNGoo: Don't get me wrong, I live life with many principles. When it comes to sex, money or my career, there are certain irrational principles that I steadfastly hold onto. But videogames? Who the hell gives a fuck?
I'm aware of what goes on generally in the development and business aspects of the industry. But you people take this shit way too seriously. If I see a game I think would be fun to play, fuck all that other shit, I'm playing it. DRM, shady business practices, hype, all that shit matters little to me.
I think people should just lighten the fuck up and enjoy videogames. It's entertainment, we have worse shit in the world to worry about.
Sorry but that's just bollocks. You're completely entitled to feel that way, but your inability to understand other peoples perspective on this issue is just silly.
The fact is, DRM in most cases is a detriment to the product - for many, that makes it not worth buying. For a lot of us, gaming is a hobby and one that we can be quite interested in - this means we'll speak up when something stinks. I think most people with a 3 digit IQ can manage to grumble about DRM on message boards while still being aware of/concerned with the more important issues of the world.
I think you'd be hard pressed to find someone with the attitude "I don't care about the economic crisis, poverty or AIDS. Just get rid of DRM!"*
*Scratch that - this is the intarwebz, there's bound to be a few obnoxious idiots with just that attitude, but my point still stands - people can be concerned with more than one thing at once.
