It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

monkeydelarge: I don't understand what you are saying.

pimpmonkey2382: I wouldn't even use steam if most of the games I got on there were free. :P
Why? Steam has a lot of good games. You wouldn't put up with DRM for a bunch of good games for free?
Did you try renaming, deleting this "BlinkPlay" thing? I think you don't need that to run the game...
Maybe is an issue with the introduction video (not sure, never played CK), maybe you could also modify the video files? Just to see if it runs...

No I'm saying that's why I put up with it. :P
A few ideas in the CK forum at Paradox, OFG :

- Rename your AVI-folder (in the main crusader kings folder) to something else (like AVIback f.e.)

- Go into the settings.txt file and make sure the resolution there matches what your video card/monitor can support. When in doubt set it to 1024 X 768 refresh 60.

- Set colourdepth to 16 bit

Found this dont know if helps.

That might work if you look at these comments on Binkplay for EUIII

There's also a number of threads where AV's are flagging it. I'd suggest trying what Stooner said.
Never mind. :)

Crassmaster: Might also want to try the 2.1 Beta Patch. Not sure if that's what Steam updates the game to automatically.

Steam version is 2.1 Beta

So the fact that you spent a lot of money on Steam games in the past is why you put up with it?

Makes sense. Yes, Steam does offer good free games like Team Fortress 2, DOTA 2 and Path Of Exile.
I appreciate all the additional help guys, but seriously, I'm done with it. I'm not putting in another 30 seconds, I've already put in over 4 hours, if that's not enough to make a game run, then so be it.

I've moved to playing something else.

If the mods can delete this thread, perhaps that would be best.

OldFatGuy:
in that case then mate, i'd "delete local content" under the library, exit steam, run something like ccleaner, reboot and reinstall as it looke like the only thing you havent done (and at 250mb, its not a massive d/l). if you get the itch / frustrated urge to try again, i'd go there as the first step!

and i have a cold is all (bit foggy) and looking after my parents to boot. thats all! :)

That's understandable. Seems the binkplay paradox uses has given a lot of problems over the years. Have fun playing whatever you're playing :)

have 191 games on mine, and I think I might have paid for like 4 of them.
