I got a question or two for the devs.

Will there be any differences, other than the control scheme and screen size, between the PS Vita and PC versions of the game? I ask because one thing that irks me about the portable versions of games is that feeling of something missing or cut etc.

Will save games be transferable between one and the other? Granted, this might be a dumb question considering that we have two different architectures and whatnot but I thought I would ask since it would be nice to take your saved game on PC on the go :D.

Welcome to our forums and enjoy your stay!

Hi judaslscariot -

Thank you for the welcome - I love the community on gog.com.

There will be no content omitted between the PS Vita and PC besides the Sony exclusive content (a couple extra missions). The main difference is what you already mentioned - resolution and control scheme. This is one of the main reasons we chose the Vita - it is a fairly beefy device in terms of tech - significantly more powerful than the PSP and with twin analog joysticks and touchscreen to boot.

I really suspect it would be difficult to transfer save games between those two platforms, but we'll certainly look into the possibility. At this point, it's really hard to say.

Kindest Regards,
Garry

1701Tiberius: Navagon - the game takes place within the confines of our Solar System. We can use Einstein-Rosen bridges to jump between planets, but not far enough to go to other systems or galaxies, so it isn't intergalactic. Although we have colonies throughout the planets of the Solar System, there are no alien colonies, so it isn't really an interstellar war. The only people participating are inhabitants of Earth and Earth people on colonies. Therefore, a World War. I guess.
Wouldn't that make it interplanetary war then?

eschatch: The $15 pledge is the DRM free digital copy of the game
Do state so on the pledge then unless you want to turn away potential pledgers. Any mention of DRM, especially Steam will drive away many people frequenting on GOG.com (and elsewhere), this IS our DRM free gaming heaven after all, and they won't be looking at the page again.

I was going to turn away had I not noticed your comment (it's not instantly obvious on your kickstarter page). I'm still concerned by the very mention of thrice cursed DLC. What excatly will they contain and how are you going to distribute them DRM free after release (second worst invention in the world after DRM). If I pledge 15$ now, how and where can the rest of the content be bought DRM free after release (I'm not going to buy a game unless I can (potentially) buy all of it's content. Availability on steam does not count.)?

I do wish you good luck even if I end up not pledging in the end.

"We need Starforce" I certainly hope this does not refer to the infamous DRM-system. :D
Also I could not help noticing the resemblance of some shots of the early game concept and the early Star Wars movies. I wander whether that was deliberate.
Also great to see an actual live developer here on GOG.

1701Tiberius: Hi, I'm Garry Gaber, the developer of the game, and wanted to first thank you all for the kind words about the project, and also to answer some of the questions and flames (I mean observations)... :)

TheEnigmaticT: I assume your Google Alert-Fu is mighty. Welcome to the forums! It's always nice to have devs around. ;)
What the... ? Indie devs here, T showing up - yet no update on digitally distributed showing on your kickstarter page?

... tell you what - include "gog.com" on your $15 or more level and I'll pledge.
... and for the mighty T: no idea what you guys are up to right now or what you'll reveal tomorrow, but be cursed with mass-self replicating furry bees if you guys don't get in touch with several kickstarter devs / projects no later than yesterday!

The "GOG.COM" level $15.5
Pledge this and above all previous tier rewards you will receive a very special handcrafted +1 rep from 1701Tiberius on GOG.com. :)

The "GOOOOOOOOOOG.COOOOOOOOOOOM" level $155
Pledge this and above all previous tier rewards you will be able to change your nickname to 1702..3..4..5Tiberius (only 99 of these available) plus a special big Star of Force in your profile.

Let's say Interplanetar-Artificia/Natura_Satelittary war for the sake of thoroughness :)

Anyway, it's indeed a great pleasure to see Devs coming here talking about their projects with the gogunity.
Let's face it : isn't the gog forum the best place to take good-old-free-clever-advice about videogaming ?

I'll keep my big eye on your game because Indie devs deserve it.

Side note : you Devs are going to start a debate on DRM. I think it's the most flammable topic that can be discussed here, BUT given the fact that the 2 main entities seriously concerned with the DRM/piracy tantrum (aka gogers in the top left corner, and Devs in the bottom right one) , I think it will remain fairly "civil" (but you should express your point of view and not dodge the issue).
