KavazovAngel: "We do view Heart of the Swarm as an expansion set, so for the regions that have a standard box business model such as North America and Europe, we will price accordingly."

Cartman-style "Suck my balls!" to all haters who bitch about how the game will be $150.
Actually we said $180. Jeez you can't even diss people properly. :P

We will price accordingly doesn't mean much of anything. That could still well mean $40 each, not $30 which I think a lot of people expect.

Cataclysm going at 16 pounds, I think that is saying something.

$25 on Amazon US.

First of all, Amazon.com doesn't allow the shipping of videogames to canadian adresses. Second, it's current price is irrelevant isn't it. The game was still released at $39.99.

Okay... if we go down that road, the game here is 70 EUR... Do I bitch about it? No, because retailers here are ripping us off. Instead, I go to some online retailer in Europe and buy it from that retailer.

/care whether you are from Canada or not, the fact is that you are using the NA version, and that is the same for US and Canada citizens. Buy it from the US, whats the big deal?
I hope Kerrigan will not be on the good guy's side (at leat not entirely :D)

I have no idea what your problem is. The fact is simply that all three parts will be $140 + tax in north america. There's no debating that.

Of course, if you intend to buy it from Blizzard's Store. :p
You can hardly compare a WoW expansion -- the actual up front box cost is less important than the additional $15/month subscription they pick up. SC and Diablo don't have those... yet...

And they won't. ;)

Don't be so sure. Activision just announced they'll be including an optional premium modern warfare 3 online option this fall for the new game where you pay a monthly fee for additional content, maps and social networking.

Starcraft could very well be next in line to have that option added in as well.

Maybe D4 and SC3, but not D3 and SC2. :p
"Activision will do it" actually means nothing for Blizzard, because they are independent of each other.

I though it was a subscription game.

OneFiercePuppy:
No clue where you got that idea.

avatar
OneFiercePuppy: Probably because it's one game sold three times (for no reason except that they can) by a company that's made tens of billions of dollars selling the biggest subscription game ever.

Probably that, yeah.
Have you ever heard of expansion packs? Blizzard isnt going to sell the game for full price, its going to be sold at a reduced expansion pack price.
