hobbes543: Wings of Liberty has 29 missions at least for the single player campaign. So the Terran campaign is about the same length as the three campaigns from the first combined. Also, the story is much better this time around.

OneFiercePuppy: Yeah, you're right. With the hidden and mutually-exclusive missions it looked like fewer, and I only played through it once, and finished it in a weekend of moderate playing. Doesn't excuse my not fact-checking, though.
Overall I never felt like I was getting 1/3 of a game with SC2. Perhaps 1/3 of a story, but I also knew that going into it. If the 2nd and 3rd parts maintain the quality and length of the first part then I honestly think it's worth the price of 3 full games. (I won't get into the price hike they added to the game)
I like Kerrigan with her red hair .

You need to play at least 19 missions to finish the campaign. Maximum on one playtrough is 26, because there are 3 missions where you have to choose.

and btw, sc2 is awesome

reaver894: How is SC2?

I though it was a subscription game.
Stop wasting oxygen in front of you PC, kiddo, and go get it nao! :p
I'll be buying the collector's edition of this as well, especially since I enjoyed the plot.

Hah, I'd love to buy every Blizzard's CE, but they're way too expensive for my pocket. :(
avatar
OneFiercePuppy: Probably because it's one game sold three times (for no reason except that they can) by a company that's made tens of billions of dollars selling the biggest subscription game ever.
And pro bably because the campaign is not actually done?

Hey, who would have thought that reason might be the main one?

Pretty sure that's you going going mad.

Check out the teaser trailer... That is either Nova or Kerrigan. :)

It probably is Kerrigan, but still the chance is there.

No, no chance that it's Nova. That's confirmed as Kerrigan. By numerous screenshots.

My girlfriend bought me the CE of SC2, I'll ask her to get me this one as well when it comes out!
No price drop after nearly a year I see. That sucks.

If your going to split the game into three parts to milk the most out of it, at least release it at $49.99, not $59.99.

I want to play Starcraft II but stupid drm + required client + $59.99 with no drop in site + most importantly barely any gameplay changes makes for onlty a mildly enticing game for me, a casual fan who never has much interest in story mode in any RTS. I always buy RTS games mainly for skirmish mode. I'll play campaign missions but not be really that into it.

What required client?
Don't buy it from Blizzard's Store, it is always more expensive there.
Barely any gameplay changes?

I don't understand what you're trying to say with the skirmish mode... Starcraft 2 doesn't have custom maps or something (they are building a mmo inside the game!)?

Jeeez, guys, how can you judge a game if you haven't played it? :)

Maybe that's the transformed Nova. :D Hahahha, pure speculations. :p

Fine scratch the client, misinformed there.

Don't tell me the gameplay is radically different from the original though. What I meant by skirmish is I buy RTS games mainly to play offline vs AI (ie skirmish mode) so I care little about story mode.

The game is still $59.99 everywhere. Portal 2 has already been on sale for $29.99 at two different brick and mortar shops where I live and at ea's online store.

They've already confirmed that the next game will be less expensive than the $59.99 WoL.
