taczillabr: "The wait is finally over"

O...M...G...
I still remember the trauma of hearing "The fleet has lost contact with the ground forces at New Gettysburg"... I simply can't wait for the cinematic *_*...
Wow what a terrible commercial. It looked like they were promoting some kind of futuristic shooter, not a real time strategy game.

They're simply showing off the singleplayer content and the best stuff their cinematics team has made. Building probes doesn't make a good advertisement ;P.
Up until a few months ago, I treated StarCraft's gameplay as a acceptable way of passing time between the briefings and cinematics. I still am a "story guy", so the main reason for buying SC2 will be the same as it was for playing SC1 - watching the events unfold...
Kind of funny that the commercial shouts "The wait is finally over," because what it really makes me want to play is Starcraft Ghost.

This.
It looks more like a Gears of War trailer than SC2 commercial.
This is just the first ad, people. Not a trailer.
They're trying to bring the attention of players from other genres and even casual gamers (since this ad debuted during the NBA Finals, on TV), because who play strategy games of course knows what is and how StarCraft plays.

Yeah... all CGI and looking like more of a shooter than anything, it makes me want to play THAT game, which is not the game that will actually come out.

Well, people have already made first and third person shooters using the map editor, so Starcraft 2 is part shooter.
No game should be allowed to say "The wait is finally over" unless it has Duke Nukem in the title.

Yeah no shit.
And that's deceptive, which I don't like.
Hummnn, I stopped waiting on SC2 months ago.
But . . . this new game looks interesting . . . what is it called? . . . =)

What do you guys WANT the story trailer to look like, long, static shots of battlefield with talking heads in the corner? :D
I for one think it's looking frickin' great - it's not gameplay that would sell me StarCraft 2 since it's pretty archaic, it's story.
