How did that Megaman MMO ever turn out?

The only things that have impressed me about this game are the cinematic trailers and the concept/advertisement art. The actual in-game graphics look bland and emotionless to me, the animations seem jerky and just "off" and, worst of all, the gameplay seems horribly derivative...

I honestly don't see how this can be a success big enough to justify the enormous amount of money and resources they've poured into this thing.

I bought Rift (recent MMO) as a time sink until this game came out, but after playing Rift a few month, I think I'm kinda burned out with MMO's, they all just offer the same grind under different guises, looking at the prices and the pre-order charge, I hope people vote with their wallets and ignore the initial release and buy it in the bargain bin.

Guild Wars 2 is the only MMO that I'm interested in and really, really looking forward to. I love the original GW, and what I've seen of the sequel so far looks just awesome -- they are consciously steering away from the WoW cloning trend, and are genuinely taking the time to make the game that they want to make. I'm very impressed with what I've seen so far.

And hey, no monthly fees ;-)

There've only been two MMO's I've ever paid to play. One was Runescape, the other was called Sigmastorm 2. Sigmastorm was an odd duck. It was more like a web-based tabletop game than an action-rpg MMO. It played like a rougelike, and certain areas were PVP (but PVP is level protected; i.e. Players with more than a certain span of level difference can't fight each other). I found I enjoyed Sigmastorm a lot more than Runescape. I had to give it up because taking a staff position in the ER meant I couldn't keep up my "duties" to the clan I'd joined, and being part of a clan was really the only way to get ahead in the game. That or spend loads of cash (real world cash, not in-game cash) for upgrades.

Ok, unless it is something really special, that is just too expensive...

Well Geordie couldn't see shit captain so at least he didn't know how stupid he looked.

Most of the money went into voice acting, since they have to fully voice a MMO.
