cogadh: I will say that having a GOG group is not a bad idea, as most of the people here don't seem to be your typical MMO douchebag type. That might make even this MMO a bearable experience, but it still isn't enough to make me want to give LA and BioWare any of my money.
Miaghstir: Yeah, trouble is, though, that those of us that currently do play MMO games are split over many different games, and even within the same game there's often not only the Europe/Asia/America split, but also different servers within each region - we did try grouping up in
World of Warcraft, but the fact that most of us playing that game would have to create new characters (or pay for transfer) made it less than feasible, notwithstanding the unbridgeable Europe/America divide, apparently there was also a try with
Guild Wars.
The difference with -those- games, however, is that those have been around for a while. With this one, we'd all be starting from scratch, so we can organize from the very start, make sure we end up on the same servers and what-not, should we choose to. If someone ends up with a character on the wrong server, it's no hassle to go "Whoops. Just delete this guy and start over on the right one." No real time investment lost.
