Okay I'm not ashamed to admit that I have a serious nerdrection at the moment.

The game looks a bit basic and runs a bit chuggy (but it is a student project so you have to make allowances), the video really needed someone who knew how to focus a camera rather than relying on the autofocus but nonetheless, this is the kind of thing I want to bloody use!
Looks kind of neat, but I see issues with the 'multi-user' part. What if things start to get hectic (given the amount of micromanagement displayed in the video) and the 'players' try to set commands in close proximity of each other. - Elbows - :p

Where is that NCIS video of Abbey and the other guy fighting a hacker by sharing a keyboard?

Oh, please!
No need to be cruel.
These films (and our mass media in general) are the reason people think 'hacking' is some sort of arcade game.
*shudders*
This is the "uber awesome minority report" interface? It looks like shit. First of all, you raise and drop hands like crazy - if you don't they get fatigued super quick since you have them raised above the heart. Second, no quick keys. Quick key 1, select group one. Even if the fleet is jammed up, you can easily access your, lets say, destroyer class ships. Or bombers. Or whatnot. I really don't see why this kind of interface has such appeal. Good for the first five minutes, awful for the rest of them.

Now, if this was done via brainwaves, then we're talking!

Well we don't know what they did and didn't implement - there is no reason that you couldn't break out gestures for quick keys and assigning groups (i.e. you create a lasso to select a group within a region and a hotbox identifier appears for each member of the group that when you select it, selects the group) - also with multiple people at the controls, that does slightly negate the need for quick keys as multiple people can issue orders simultaneously.

I think I would need to test myself to find out. :)

Depends on how many an order you have to provide per minute.
It looked like you could just provide some orders, then step back and watch for a bit, rinse and repeat.

Titanium: Second, no quick keys
Should be easy enough to adjust with gestures, shouldn't it?

Far less efficient than other controllers, where your hands are set firmly on the table or in your lap. The novelty and fun factor are something of a plus, but their evaporate pretty quickly, so all you're left with is basically a two finger typing as opposed to ten finger typing, efficiency wise. Also, good luck with your lower back muscles if you repeat the rise/drop for more than ten minutes.

True enough.

Okay, another plus: forces the gamer to stand and move as opposed to sit and avoid moving as much as possible. That's a big plus, muscle fatigue be damned.

Wow. It would be like being on the command deck. You know how all those movies of old battles show that big table with the solder figurines that the generals push around with sticks when planning their strategies? That's what this is like. I'll bet it would be far more immersion for me than the best graphics the latest hardware can put out.
