shane-o: You don't have to play Star Citizen in a multiplayer fashion (grouping, organisations, and the like) if you don't want; there is no need to be social. You can just go about exploring, salvaging, bounty hunting, etc., etc.

Note though, on your travels you may come across some human players from time-to-time along with A.I. as well

I know i know. Im just wondering whether the SP content will justify the price being asked....i am still sitting on the fence about backing this (before it closes off....)

Consider this: If I recall correctly, the single player component [Squadron 42] will have 50 missions on full launch

You might be interested in this interview on MMORPG.com with Erin Roberts who is helping to develop Squadron 42

Put it this way; you can back the game now or just wait till it comes out. It just depends on whether you want to be involved and experience the pieces being made now or just playing it later :)

It sure has the vibe of being an epic game. I'm holding out until it is officially released to see what the final product turns out to be, where it is available and how much it costs and other factors myself but it is a total droolfest if you ask me. Mind you, I never buy games before they're released so I'm no different in this regard for this game either. :)

Besides myself I know a few others who might go crazy for this one also. Just a waiting game now... :)

I'm actually wondering if the game will be worth it considering it seems to be as some claim more of a MMO with a tacked on campaign. Is it worth the 30 bucks which seems to be base tier if ur only interested in single player component? (I have neither the will or time to sink anything into a multiplayer focussed game (eve is the only exception and I haven't touched it for months)...can't see Gog bringing it onboard everything considered.....
The SP is NOT tacked on at all.

It's an integral part of the whole thing. After completing SP you get some starting goods for the MP or so I think
and it also teaches you how to play in preparation for the MP, if you so want. Plus there's private servers too.

The game is cheap right now and will be more at release. CIG haven't determined the price yet, but it's going to be a lot more than 30.00.
