summitus: Well if thats the case I saw the Witcher 2 on sale in my local game store , I'm going to go and buy it and lend to everybody I can think of, kind make the whole buying it on gog thing a pointless doesn't it ?
avatar
Lexor: So go and buy it and lend it and then wait for return to play it yourself.
Nah no need I'll just install it and us a no cd crack ;)
Why even buy it at your local game store? Disks get worn out, pirate it with all of your friends instead.

At least have some common decency not to be a twat.

So you're a hypocrite, you break one rule instead of the other.

And even if it is against the forum rules, you deserve it.

If you are playing a game you downloaded from your friends account . . . you pirated the copy. It's just that simple.

Using no cd crack for your own good is kind of ok.
But using no cd crack to lend the game to someone else is not ok at all. Deal with it.

Well I'm not actually playing as I didn't actually download it . and I can see your point , but that also means that if my friend bought it and decided to let me play it on his account that means that he doesn't actually own it then does it not ? I find it a little confusing to say the least.

And if I buy the physical copy of the game and give it too my friend is that also mean that he had pirated the game even though I gave it to him ?

Yeah but if I paid for game and decided to lend ithe game out how is it not ok to keep it installed on my PC if I am the owner of the game ?

I think the problem is, your friend will still have access to the game....Anyways, it really doesn't matter if you feel it is right or wrong. What matters is that GOG tells you in its rules what is acceptable or not to them. It is their company, their site, they set the rules, whether or not we think they are right or wrong, doesn't matter, if one wants to use this site, they should obey the rules of the owners of the site. I hope that clears some things up for you and your friend.

EDIT: Well, I guess the next D&D character I'll be rolling will be Lawful ;)

1) you are trying to play your friend's game at the same time as he is playing it - yes, you're pirating the game
2) you are using no cd crack to lend game to someone else - yes, you're pirating the game

Use BS logic to justify your pirating if you want. Your friend, by giving you access to his account, has enabled you to pirate games HE bought and owns. If you are downloading and playing the games . . . they are pirated . . . it's just that SIMPLE.

Look I love gog and have bought many games here , maybe they should just make it a little clearer that you only own the games for your own use.
And you don't actually own the game, you own the right to play it. Just like GoG doesn't own these games, GoG owns the right to sell them.

Oh, and btw: every time you are buying the game (or any other program) you are not really buying it. What you are buying is the license / right to use it. In case of 99,99% games license allows you to install it on ONE, your computer.

Well perhaps he doesn't own it then ? You can lend out a copy of the Physical game yes ? (granted that you dont play it yourself while your friend plays it ) so why can a friend not lend me his digital copy of the game ? If this is the case he does not really own own it does he ? gog or whichever digital D/L site owns it.
