I just tried it, and it's buggy as hell of course. But playable anyway. I'm kind of lazy to continue playing without losing my mind (saving by entering console, not inverted mouse etc)... But now I want to play Stalker again :o

Almak: Yeah its not really for everyone. Actually I see it as more of a diametrical opposite to the more conventional shooters such as CoD4 or say Unreal where gratification for progress is instant. Here you have to literally work for every single inch of land you traverse since even the environment itself is hostile (anomalies, radiation etc.). Personally I am big on the setting of the game which is likely the reason why I finished it 4 times already.
oh I love the setting, I just can't stand any of the dialogue, the story is just too hard to follow.

I completely agree. I had to download the Russian voice pack for the game (as my copy was a EU version). They are so much better! Night and day, seriously. If you can be bothered give them a try. There is a mod for English text and Russian voices out there somewhere on the Stalker modding sites that is just great.

STALKER pissed me off because of bugs. couldn't finish a mission for freedom because game did not acknowledged the kill count. It was over a year ago. didn't touch the game since. that saddens me.
the video looks amazing. very well made (the second song is beautiful)
Never understood why did they cut out cars from the game. they fit, they made sense and would be very useful!

Oblivion Lost adds cars back in and all. I hope Kanykhalos ports over the new alpha/beta stuff.

AFAIK no one has heard from Kanykhalos, or anyone who has worked on Oblivion Lost for some time. The guys that are working on the Priboi Story mod (TC, IIRC), was considering to use some of it from what I read though.
