zilfin: Sure would like to see the old D&D Gold Box Games from SSI:
Pool of Radiance
Secret of the Silver Blades
Curse of the Azure Bonds
Pools of Darkness
Dragons of Flame
Death Knights of Krynn
Champions of Krynn
War of the Lance
The Golden Era of RPG Gaming for me was during the heyday of Pool of Radiance followed by the awesome Curse of the Azure Bonds. I still remember the awesome dials in elvish and dwarven runes used for copy protection, and the best part for me were the Journals, or better said, the Journal System.
After finishing the first game Pool of Radiance having killed Tyranthraxus, I began to read the whole journal again to find out which parts I missed, thats when I realized some of the journal entries were just random lore snippets from the Forgotten Realms world :D
My geek love bar raised that day. Man, I know it's a Nostalgia trip, but after having finished (well, REfinished) a lot of pretty old games, I'm missing these. I still remember the ugly mugs you could create in Pool of Radiance (thanks goodness they removed those in the next sequels) ... Up to this day I still remember fondly walking around in Phlan for random events. Meh, even the PC game itself was the main reason I discovered the whole world was part of an IP that belonged to a tabletop RPG called AD&D back in the day. As a newbie DM, I remember basing my first tentative adventures in the Moonsea Area ... ahhh such geekness. Adding these guys would rock. I remember I had bought them all once in a special CD that contained all Gold Box titles, but sadly I lost that CD (alongside the digital text only manuals) during my constant moving. If I could have them again in digital format I would totally shell out the $$$ for them.
