tinyE: Sadly there is only one title there I don't have and I refuse to buy that because of scruples, but alas a very good sale. :D

ne_zavarj: I have five games on my list ( i don't think the Pandemonium series will work with keyboard and mouse ) Hitman 2 & 3 , Tomb Raider Angel of Darkness & Last Revelation and Total Overdose .
Last Revelation is GREAT!!!! but Angel should only be gotten by big TR fans like who feel the twisted need to own and play every title in the series.

paladin181: It's been a long time. It is a bit repetitive, and I don't even remember if the ending was worth it after all that. :P
Sigh.. thanks +1

Spill the beans. Which is the game?

phaolo: I'll repost here:

has anyone tried LoK Defiance? I'd like to see the series ending, but many said that the game is repetitive and boring. Is there some fan patch-fix for it maybe?

What do you think about Pandemonium 2, then? (vs the first one)
LoK: D is great. Not sure why you heard it otherwise.

The Persian Gulf one, but I don't want this thread to turn into a political flame war so let's just keep talking about the sale. :D

Defiance is a fantastic end for the series - even if none of us really wanted it to be. There are folks who dislike that it spends its opening section recounting some of the existing story, but I never found it a problem. And as for being repetitive, the combat is tremendous fun, and fairly challenging in places, so I don't really get that complaint myself. It does suffer the usual problems of the 3d LoK games - the camera is not fantastic and the controls feel more at home on console than pc - but if you can get over that then it's well, well worth playing.
For me, it's probably the second best LoK.

IronArcturus: Interesting. Also, have you tried the Pandemonium series at all? I've never played it before.
I enjoyed the first one quite a bit when it came out for the PS1. I'm not sure if it aged well, though. It should be worth checking out. However, he second one doesn't look particularly good.

IronArcturus: How are the Pandemonium and Urban Chaos games? Also, is Daikatana really that bad?
pandemonium is a 2.5 D platformer
it all looks 3D but you strictly play on a 2D plane
its a bit disconcerting and disorientating at times but if you like platformers give it a go

they work fine on my xbox 360 controller

pandemonium 2 sees the characters return with extreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeme make overs
plays the same

and daikatana really is that bad

Have you tried the Urban Chaos one? I've read it had some issues with an Xbox 360 controller here. But I haven't been able to verify that.
no i havent tried that one
usually when i have issues i whip out pinnacle profiler to emulate and map the controls to my controller

which is a lot easier when you are used to controllers

( though some i dont need a controller for oblivion bloodlines fallout 3 sims 2 )

I don't remember it being more repetitive than the other games. Combat is a bit better though, and if you liked SR1-2 you'll probably like this one as well.
It isn't really an ending to the series, but it does start to bring some closure at least.
I just remembered I need Joy2Key for SR 1. Odd because I don't think I need it for any of the others in that series.

EDIT. That's weird. All of a sudden I don't need it. :O

Wait.. it isn't even a proper ending? :\
SR2 had indeed some repetition problems, but near the end, I think.

What ending. They kept going back and forth in time so much I gave up! :P

I usually like complex stories and the mix of fantasy+time travel was cool.

However, they surely added a lot of mess in the plot after each sequel..
