No freebies for me so far.

xxxIndyxxx: how does it work really? You go to the checkout and if you are Lucky it says it for free or does it work differently? And is it Always the game on sale or do you get some extra random game?
It works as you said, and only for the game on offer in that moment.
nothing here
Nothing here either. I'm going to start a wishlist item so that people with more games on their account have more chances to win a free game, because any rule that doesn't give me an advantage is automatically unfair and despicable.
I got Little Big Adventure 1 and Teslagrad, was pretty pleased with LBA 1, always wanted to replay that again one day :P

I have made 5 purchases excluding the 2 free games.

none
Bought a lot of stuff, but didn't get anything for free. They probably looked at my backlog and decided I'm not in need for free games.
scratch my earlier comment, just got bards tale free
Hmm, I've got Hitman: Codename 47. I didn't even registered in my brain what it was, and poof... Thanks GOG I guess, I can give it a try :)

Sam & Max: The Devil’s Playhouse - Now I have to stay alert for the other two seasons...

Purchased 7 games so far and clicked "Buy now"... uhm... another 20 times approximately. One free game out of less than 30 chances isn't too bad.
Diddles.
Hehe, got tired of Human must answer and clicked on it hoping to somehow make it go faster!
Nothing, but I only clicked on the very rare ones I was willing to buy, so the chances were almost null. I really don't get those who try to grab any free thing only because it is free.

I wish those free games went to people who'd actually want them, play them and enjoy them, instead of people who just feel a huge achievement because gotsomethingfree=profit.

Every "oh no i got it free but i didn't want it" freaks me out. That's really a disturbing mentality.
