I don't see how Spore would work as a film, being it's based on the limits of human imagination. But it's real, and I'm betting it won't be pretty.
I can't wait for Sims: The Movie and Tunnel Rats: The Movie : The Game: The Movie.
Their will also be Monopoly: The Movie, which Ridley Scott is involved with :P
That one's going to be a real cinema experience. The beginning of the showing will largely be focussed on DRM restrictions stopping the film being played. So they have to phone Hollywood to beg for more showing licenses.

Does it involve Microsoft?? :D

michaelleung: .....Spore.....a film.....but it's real....

Hilarity ensues
Seeing how the only interesting thing in Spore was the designers and the personal imprint on the game content they provided, whilst the game itself was merely an endless repetition of simple game mechanics that were mediocre at best, I have a great deal of difficulty in seeing how anything good can come of this.

Let me modify this slightly to show you how logical this is for hollywood:
"the film itself is merely an endless repetition of simple plot mechanics that are mediocre at best"
Easily within their style. Besides its not like you can bitch about spore being a bad game movie, its the expected outcome based on the source. That's be like bitching about a duke nukem forever movie being delayed...

Wow. Just wow.
I still don't think it beats the Monopoly movie or the Sims movie.

Uwe Boll should make the Sims movie. I'd actually go to see that, just to see the epic horribleness myself.

Apparently it's about some kids who play The Sims and find out that what they do to the Sims in the game affects people in real life, or some sort of gibberish along those lines.
So, basically Jumanji with computerized voodoo dolls.

Sims film.
"Pleasantview citizens are always well-mannered. But newcomer Andie starts to uncover the 'real' Pleasantview, for not only is Pleasantview full of cheating, lying, deceiving, secret-ridden people like the Goths, Don Lothario and the struggling Newbies, but they are being ruled by a greater power. Andie is terrified to discover they are stuck in a video game being played by millions universally."
I hope the wiki is joking, for their sake.

I'd rather blind myself than watch something like The Sims movie directed by Uwe Boll.

I guess Uwe Boll is not worth losing your sight permanently. =)
