There's PROBABLY a Conviction related thread but you know, whatever. The game's been delayed again and pushed back to April because Ubisoft are dicks (or because they didn't put enough violence in the game yet). While the new Splinter Cell game is nothing like the days of old (when you had to actually sneak around and stuff) there's enough cool and new mechanics to make the game enticing for me and a few other diehard Splinter Cell fans. There's even splitscreen co-op, which is awesome because I haven't played on of those in ages.
There's a billion trailers out there so I'll just link to the latest one.
I checked this out of few days back on GameSpot. Downloaded and watched the HD Dual Player Walk thru and thought this game will be awsome. Told my son about it and then oops sorry it will not be out for your PS3. ;-)

I'm just hoping the PC version is nothing like the console version. Which, as we all know is hoping for far too much these days.

Ubisoft is Port Central these days. Hoping for at least a port which doesn't suck is a pretty realistic wish.
Please please please don't suck like Double Agent.
Double Agent was total crap, I'm not paying attention to Conviction. Chaos Theory was the best game in the series. Anyway hasn't Conviction been in development hell for a while now? Like it was supposed to be released 2 years ago at first.

So it's going to be like one long quick time event. Not for me, thanks.
It will be released on 2015.
So the game's slowly inching its way into stores now, and here are some unconfirmed system requirements:
* Core 2 Duo at 1.8 GHz or Athlon X2 64 at 2.4 GHz
* 1.5GB RAM for Windows XP; 2GB RAM for Windows Vista or 7
* GeForce 7800 or Radeon X1800 with 256 MB (GeForce 8800 GS or Radeon 4670 with 512 MB recommended)
* 10GB hard disk space
* 1 Mbps always-on Internet connection (2 Mbps recommended)
It doesn't look like a whole lot but then you remember it uses a modified version of Unreal 2.5. But there's also the always-on Internet connection, which means that thing that Ubisoft is doing.
But I've preordered anyway and I'll let y'all know how it works. I'm most interested in how the new Ubi.com will work with this, and if I can download/install my game anywhere without the disc, like Steam.
There's also a set of confirmed system requirements: Xbox 360
Well Splinter Cell Conviction has gone gold FINALLY. I've been keeping track of this game since they had that leak from Ubisoft which has an image for the title of the game. I've had this preordered since last year too. Can't wait to pick up my Collector's Edition.
I'll be hoenst...I've seen gameplay videos through those crappy Gamestop commercials and some footage on MTV and G4 and the game looks like crap. The graphics were extremely low res and looked like it was made 4-5 years ago. Weird since the screens I saw of it seemed decent enough.
I haven't played a Splinter Cell since Chaos Theory. Double agent would always crash on my PC, and I never bothered to get into it.
This game has caught my attention, and I will probably pick it up. I have a sinking feeling I'm going to hate it though. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that there is a "silenced shotgun". Very realistic. That was sarcasm for those who didn't catch it.

actual there are silencers, or more appropriately suppressors for shotguns.

No suppressor is dead silent but the noise is greatly reduced so only a certain area can hear it. the pww sound that you often hear in movies and games it super sonic rounds being fired in a suppressor

Interesting. Must be a fairly new development. I am pretty up-to-date on my weaponry information, so this must have just came around relatively recently. Either way, stealth is not really my thing, but I know I'll give it a try eventually.
