WTF happened with this franchise ? :(
Whatever it is it happened on the last one, Conviction, so this is no real surprise.

Action games sell better than stealth games, I guess.
In AssCreed 4, Desmond meets his older brother Sam, they both go kill the remaining Templars and save the world from impending doom.

I've tought the same... oh god...
"We listened to our fans..", which fans? The new games are not even comparable to the older games in the series.

Still waiting for a release of Chaos Theory on GOG.

Ubisoft.

I mean, for fuck's sake people! Ubisoft! This is 2012, not 2009. This stopped being a question this time three years ago.

Why is it that every game needs to have broder appeal

is it that hard for publishers to orginize their budgets does every game needs to have a budget of $250,000,000

Yeah, supposedly every game on modern hardware (read: 6 years old hardware) is so expensive to make they need 3+ million sales to break even.

And we're launching new hardware next year! Can't wait!

Egh and thus budget will be so expensive that pretty much every game is te same easy simplistice online multiplayer only DRM ridden mess

Yup.

Thankfully on the PC we have a continuously growing indie and small developer scene making games to fit the smaller audiences.

yet I fear for PC gaming because I think Windows 8 will destroy it :(
Infact I bought blacklist even though I really couldn't afford it but what ever.. ^^ I was the first to think that it would suck but I've played it on hardest difficulty and mostly one mission which isn't even a story mission, side quest I guess but it's hard and kinda great. Can't say about story anything but gameplay is pretty neat. It's much better than conviction ever dreamed off.

Edit: In some other thread I said that I wouldn't like it and stealth was tacked on but in the beginning I can say that I was wrong. In the hardest difficulty you cannot see through walls and you cannot use execute (that 3 persons marked to death thing)

Edit2: Sam Fishers voice isn't so good but as a game it doesn't seem bad. That's my point.

I also have Blacklist and love it. If someone isn't playing it because they have the option to go Last Action Hero on Easy setting, then that's their loss. This may just be my favorite of all the Splinter Cells (I've played them all except Pandora now, and read all the books -- I'm a pretty big fan).

There's a book? ..just kidding. ^^ Haven't read those though. Pandora tomorrow was pretty good one. But with these games what are released, I would have thought it would suck. It didn't. =)
