Good evening,

First of all I'd like to make it clear I did search for the tag "spiderman" on the forums and I found no topic about why Spiderman games went extinct.

Sadly, Spiderman games like:
Spiderman
Spiderman 2
Spiderman 3
Spiderman: Web of Shadows
Spiderman: Shattered Dimensions

... are not aviable for online digital copy purchase anywhere at all. Not on GOG, not on Amazon, not on Steam, not on Green Man Gaming, and I find no reason behind it since the Amazing Spiderman (came out with the first movie of the new series) and the Amazing Spiderman 2 is aviable at least on Steam and Amazon, but even if you look for these on gmg or gog (well gog stands for good old gaming so this one is understandable) you can't buy them.

I refuse to download them from torrent sites, I pirate games at all for many, many years. Still that seems to be the only option left which is needless to say extremely annoying and lame from publishers.

Anyone knows why is this?

Probably 3rd party IP (aka Marvel, or whoever owns them nowadays) and a limited time publication deal that wasn't renewed. So whoever made those games no longer has the right to sell them.
Maybe it's a regional thing because from my seat they are all over Amazon, and at some nice prices. Web of Shadows is available for $9 USD.

Your best bet is to buy hard copies of those games.
None of those games have ever been digitally available and Activision probably doesn't find it profitable to make a new deal with Disney just to deliver those old games digitally. And you can also find physical versions of those games, so piracy is not your only option.

Where are you seeing this? I can only find a physical version of it.

The Spiderman IP is in a bit of a mess. The rights are spread through Disney/Marvel, Sony and Activision, with Activision having limited rights given by Sony. And Disney trying to get back all the popular IP that Marvel spread around ( X-Men, Fantastic 4 are in the same situation ) does not help one bit.
Since we are kind if on topic, I heard the new movie is kind of so-so. Anyone see it?
I thought most of them weren't on pc. Must be wrong then.

I really liked it, definitely way more than the original. And I loved what they did with Electro's theme.
If I am not mistaken, Activision, was forced by Disney to remove most of its Marvel licensed games from digital distribution. This includes Spider-Man: Friend or Foe, Spider-Man: Edge of Time, Spider-Man: Web of Shadows, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, X-Men: The Official Game and Deadpool.
The removal of the Deadpool game is particularly ludicrous, because it was only out for about six months before being yanked.

Similar things have happened on GOG and it's almost always some licensing issue.

Welcome to the Digital Age, I guess.

If you're lucky, you might be able to find a retail copy of those title. (By the way: Thanks, Valve, for eliminating the concept of used games on PC!)

IMO, it's so far the best Spider-Man movie yet, although Raimi's second SM movie might have come close if only his version PP would have been wise enough to develop mechanical web-shooters immediately after his powers started to fail and had visited the doctor as Spidey if his own supposedly genius intellect that everyone was telling him about wasn't enough to research and cure that ailment.

The only Spiderman that never made it to PC (PS1 or later, not all the Atari 2600/NES/SNES-era stuff) is Spiderman 2: Enter Electro. As far as I'm aware, every other single Spiderman game has made its way to PC.
The PC version of Spiderman 2 is inferior to the console versions, though. Instead of an open world you are limited to much smaller areas.
Acitivision is known to stop selling licensed games rather than renew them. All their Bond games are abandonware as well. I doubt any of them will ever be sold again, so you might as well download them.
