GOG.com and Interplay Level up!

GOG.com has been in talks with our good friends at Interplay, and we’re pleased to be able to say that we have good news! Not only are we adding four classic games from their catalog to GOG.com in the near future, but we’re also going to give you another chance to [url=http://www.gog.com/en/promo/interplay_price_change_promo_09_11_12]save big on the games we already have for the next week!

Every silver lining has a cloud, though, and the reason that we’re putting the games on sale again is because we’re raising the prices on some of the Interplay games on the 16th of November as part of our new deal with Interplay. As such, games such as Fallout, MDK, Redneck Rampage and others may never be as cheap on GOG.com as they will be this next week. If you’ve been hesitating to pull the trigger on any classic Interplay games, now’s your last chance to buy and save big!

What are the new games that we’re adding to the Interplay collection? Well, if you know GOG.com, you know what we don’t like to give away that kind of news early, but if you’re paying attention on our website--or on any of our social media channels like , [url=http://www.facebook.com/gogcom]Facebook, , [url=http://www.youtube.com/gogcom]Google+ or even just your email inbox, you’ll be sure to find out.

So pick up our last huzzay of Interplay games at $2.99 this week, and let us know in the comments below what classic Interplay games you’re hoping will show up on GOG.com early next year--or perhaps even sooner!

Wishbone: Permanent price increases? That's a first for GOG :-(

Alfie3000: Wasn't the first Heroes of Might and Magic originally $5.99?
not that I remember, no

I do remember it however launching with a special price promo

P1na: I sure do hope for it, however I recently noticed that this game used to be on GOG yet it had to be taken out for whatever reason. They might have solved their differences, but I would bet my money somewhere else.
Game was removed in 2010 due to legal reasons, then there was a re-emergence of that topic in April 2012, since GMG had the game listed for sale. The question became "If one Digital Distributor can sell it, why can't GOG.com do the same?", and TET had said he'd look into it, and later replied that nothing had changed.
GMG currently lists Hostile Waters: Antaeus Rising as out of stock, and I don't recall it being up for sale anywhere else, but one can hope that Interplay has cleared up the legal "kerfluffle" and GOG.com will be able to sell the game again. Here's hoping.

Fuzzyfireball: Okay, once again, Interplay owns the classic Fallouts until DECEMBER 2013.

ZeniMax will pay Interplay $2 million as part of the settlement and each party will pay their own legal costs. However, Interplay can continue to sell the original Fallout Tactics, Fallout, and Fallout 2 PC games and merchandise through December 2013. After that time, the rights to those titles become property of Bethesda.

Finally, Interplay's rights to sell Fallout, Fallout 2 and Fallout Tactics will expire in December 2013, along with any other merchandising rights it had in association with those properties.

etc etc, stop spreading FUD.
Alright then, thanks for clearing that up

Yes, it was $5.99 for a limited time after release, then it got the intended $9.99 price tag.

Ah, that's new to me. Thanks for the clarification.

Which is pretty ridiculous to be honest

Asking 10 Dollars for the first HOMM game is borderline madness

It's so ridiculous that this game got into my "Overpriced games" GOGmix

F4LL0UT: Lol, I feel like the Interplay PWYW promo ended just yesterday and now we're getting a chance for a worse deal.
Worse deal? Depends who you ask. This promo is a better deal for me to snatch some of those I want. The higher tiers in the PWYW promo for me were useless because I already had most of the games. At least this promo takes it into account if you already have many or most of the games.

Hmm...

New classics from Interplay are welcome: Bard's Tale, Hardware, Hostile Waters
As for current promo I already have all must-haves from Interplay catalog so no joy for me :-(
Could we have now....

The Bard's Tale Trilogy
Descent to Undermountain
Dragon Wars
Dungeon Master I & II
Neuromancer
Wasteland

... among others? ^_^
I want Hostile Waters so bad...

Does Interplay own Blackthorne?

How about that Castles 1 Expansion? Did that get cleared up?

There's also a couple [url=http://www.mobygames.com/game/descent-levels-of-the-world]packs for Descent 2 that GOG is missing.

There's also Heart of Darkness

Kingdom 2...

SandWarrirors...

Time Gate...

Voyeur (LOL)

Whiplash...

Can't think of much else at the moment.

This deal is definitely better than the last deal because I can get the games I like for a decent price. I pay less in the end.

However I don't like that the games get more expensive afterwards. They aren't that good.
I'm having a feeling of deja-vu :P

F1ach: meh....half thinking of getting Sacrifice, but I just dont know if its worth it.

Roman5: Licurg busting into this thread in 3...2....1....
Busted....guilty as charged :P
"Not only are we adding four classic games from their catalog to GOG.com in the near future"

This was good enough for me... plus a discount? Hell GOG! That's amazing!!
It's only me or there's no indication of which games I've wishlisted when viewing the promo list anymore?
I remember seeing the "heart icon" in every promo on games I had wishlisted before.
