Magmarock: It is a port. People say "it doesn't matter if it's a console port as long as it's good" Play either UT99 or UT04 and then UT3 and tell me that consoles didn't ruin it.
I won't complain if they do, but I'm not getting upset if they don't. I mean they did release Diakatan so who knows.
The fact that Daikatana is here means any game that isn't deserves to be here. :p

Lol I didn't say games don't deserve it, to be here I said that I didn't care.

Damn, 14 years later and that game still gets no respect! XD

The game is bad and it should feel bad. :p
Great promo.
I was going to get all 4, but the wallet screamed bloody murder so much that I had to compromise (getting some LucasArts and some Halloween sale titles may have had something to do with that).

So, went with the original grand-daddy for the single-player-focused game and the latest tournament for releasing my inner Rambo.

A hearty "Thank you!" to JudasIscariot, Tannath, Licurg, & Harachel for providing me with feedback earlier.
Personally, when compared to some other games I play, Unreal Tournament 3 wasn't all that "consolized", as some seem to put it. I prefer UT2004 and UT3 equally (i.e. both are favorites of mine in the UT series), and UT99 a little less, on par with Quake III Arena. Maybe I'm being biased, as UT2004 and UT3 were my first Unreal Tournament games (I got use to vehicles and the art style in those games, as well as the large player counts, though I play with bots). Can't say anything about 2003, as I haven't played it.
I was introduced to the UT line with the UT99, and still think it's the best. :)
If you have it, try out Eavy's AssaultBonusPack.
I never had a cold sweat running down my back playing UT - and I played it a lot.

I did, however, when playing IL2 1946 online.
Posting this just in case anyone wants a quick native linux fix for UT2004: http://www.gog.com/forum/unreal_series/unreal_tournament_2004_easy_setup_for_linux

Enjoy :)

I played through the series pretty much as the games were released (although I skipped UT2003 but I guess that doesn't matter) and UT2004 is definitely my fav. I think it was a vast improvement over UT99 (which was also brilliant, however). At first I wasn't a big fan of its kinda wacky and colorful style but eventually I grew attached to it. At first I also very much disliked stuff like the adrenaline and the double jump but eventually I didn't mind the adrenaline and I even fell in love with double jumping, especially when I discovered the sick moves it allows in combination with dodging - it made navigating the maps *insane*.

And then UT3 came along and removed all the stuff I had learned to love about UT2004. It was still a good game but perfectly unnecessary.

There now appears to be an even steeper discount, but I don't see a news post this time...

Why isn't Unreal Tournament 3: Black available here? If the issue is multiplayer related, perhaps GOG Galaxy will help things along.

Vote for it on the wishlist:
