ReynardFox: Will we ever see UT3 on here? That would have been such a good game to launch Galaxy with...
Yeah, I wish we could see UT3 on GOG too. But in the meantime, be sure to get UT2004! The game is incredibly fun to play and there are still some servers running!

Random_Coffee: I have all of these games except for Unreal 2, is it worth it?

F4LL0UT: Depends on your particular demands to shooters. It's a decent and solid shooter but insanely generic, it feels more like a low budget Halo clone than an Unreal game, and has none of the original game's unique and mysterious atmosphere or setting.

If you're comparably easily entertained by shooters in general you will probably enjoy it, though. It's not a bad game, it's just not worthy of the Unreal name.

On a different note: "complete Unreal experience" in the announcement is kinda misleading since Unreal Tournament 3 isn't available here.
I'll skip it then. I liked Unreal, but I hated Halo and I haven't been particularly compelled to get U2 since it arrived here.

I already own both a physical copy and a GOG copy of UT2004 and UT99. :)

Agreed. I wouldn't be surprised if there were some exclusivity deal with Steam now, though. After all, years ago every retail version of UT3 became suddenly redeemable on Steam and you'd get the Black Edition upgrade for free this way.

Have you tried playing GOG's version of UT99 online? Does that game need a different code to go online? With many people that tried to play online with GOG's default code for UT2004, it apparently didn't work with online servers and they had to ask Customer Service for another code to get it to work properly.

The black edition content was always free anyway, but I never knew about the steam redeem thing... but then again I only ever played my boxed copy over LAN and Offline so I never noticed when the GameSpy servers went down. I assumed Epic let the game go to rust.

I really hope Steam isn't the reason it's not here. :/

Actually I've not installed my GOG copies of either game, I bought them as backups and have only run from my Disc copies I'm afraid.

I'm interested in whether the multiplayer for the Unreal series will be available through Galaxy once it comes out?
I always thought Unreal 2 was better than its reputation. Sure, it's no extraordinary game. But I think the disappointment came more from the expectations than the quality of the game itself. The first Unreal is rather grim and atmospheric, while Unreal 2 is colorful, fancy and a bit superficial. People didn't expect that and were surprised and confused by this approach.

Bottom line: It's a decent, straight FPS, and if you liked similar titles such as Halo or Pariah there's a good chance you'll enjoy Unreal 2 as well.

JudasIscariot: Unreal Tournament games are multi-player whereas Unreal is single player :)
Correction there, Unreal 1/Gold has multi player and co-op play. For better stability on new operating systems you can get the 227i patch from oldunreal. There are still co-op, DM and other game type servers running to play on.
YAWN! Been there own that -_-
Does anyone know if this will be on GOG galaxy either now or in the future?
Okay. Honest question. I have the Unreal Anthology which includes all four games with the latest official patches. Is there any benefit to having the GOG versions beyond not having to deal with the CD key?
why do people want UT3 when we have UT2004?

there should be a vanilla gog server.

Every Unreal Tournament game from 1 to 3(2004 would be the fleshed out version of "2") has ended up being great in its own right with their own quirks, game modes, and feel. Also completeness sake would make for another reason to have it.

Although it may not come since you can optionally (not required) enter the Key in steam.

Also it would be nice to have WINE builds of these tested and setup for Mac/Linux. Most unreal engine games work fairly well in WINE.

UT Classic and UT2004 have native linux versions.
