15,504 ways to play!

Decisions, decisions, decisions. Once the holiday season gets closer, you have to decide what gifts to buy, what wrapping to use, which phone numbers to accidentally delete. There are many decisions to make as you get ready for the holidays, but one decision that we’re making easy for you is, “Should I buy anything from GOG.com’s Black Friday sale?” (The answer is “yes”, by the way. ;) Not only are we launching the sale early--in case you spend Friday in a turkey-induced coma--but we’re also giving you the power to pick your own promo!

In our Pick 5 & Pay $10 sale you pick 5 out of twenty fantastic indie games and pay $10 for them regardless of the game’s regular full price. That's $2 per game, for such titles like Torchlight, Resonance, Alan Wake's American Nightmare, Botanicula, Geneforge 1-5, Uplink, To the Moon, and many others. Seven of these games are both PC and Mac compatible, so everyone can enjoy!

The games are fantastic--and there are so many of them! That's why we started this sale early: to give you time to pick your dream-set of 5 games out of 15,504 possible combinations. You could look at this as another decision you have to make this year, but unlike trying to figure out who you should sit next to your slightly crazy uncle at Thanksgiving dinner, this one’s fun!

Black Friday marks the start of the “shopping season” for the holidays, so don’t forget to buy the gift of GOG for a gamer you love--or even just kind of like. You can’t spread much more holiday joy than this for just $10.
aww... already 4 games on the list I own. Well shows I have good taste =p
Seems like a good time to finally give those Wadjet games a try. :D As for the rest, I either already own them or I'm not really interested... gotta think this one through.
Ah, this sounded so great at first, until I realized I already own all the games on the list but three. And of these three, only one is on my wishlist and I'm not even sure if it would run on my rig. :(

Still a fantastic deal for anyone who has managed to ignore the indie scene so far.

Fred_DM: he's purchasing enough on GOG to have the right to criticise. unlike some of the freeloaders here who keep coming to GOG's defense (as if it needed defending) yet are always too broke to purchase releases they welcome as "great".
Weren't you always complaining how mad it makes you when people criticize Steam in GOG forums? Oh yeah, now I remember: all that criticism towards Steam is unfounded by default. Figures. /heavy sarcasm

Double-standards and all that.

At least people here are not banned for criticizing the service. I think you and Simon are the best proof of that. So you can stop that "oh oh people are not allowed to criticize GOG" martyrdom act.

I criticize GOG now that these new promo types punish those who already have bought many games from GOG earlier. I prefer the classic GOG promos where people who buy many games, _or have already bought before_, are recognized. So I think I'll wait for those promos then.

Let me guess: Alan Wake is on the wishlist and the other two missing games are Symphony and Unmechanical? Welcome to the club ;-)

You mean promos that get bigger the more games you buy?

I remember them saying they didn't work well. Most people are not "devoted" buyers, and when they've seen "buy 2 get 30% or buy more get 40% , 50% and more" thought "pssshhhh... I'm not buying anything" , and this is why they dropped that type of promos.
I'm glad I waited, thanks to GOG I saved more than 45$!! ^_^

Got myself Alan Wake's American Nightmare, The Blackwell bundle, Gemini Rue, To the moon and Resonance!!

Now to find the time to play those games... :(

I prefer the new promo's, but i wont be buying this one.

Regards to criticising GOG, i think it's the general GOG forum community rather than GOG staff members who "don't allow criticism of GOG".

There are some fanboys here that will defend shit if they had to, and would try and delude everyone else that it's something extraordinary/a must have.

It's nice to see informed decisions instead of "black and white thinking".

Just play To The Moon, dude. It's pretty short (around 6 hours), but it will squeeze the tears out of you like from a wet sponge ;_;

Thanks for the advice, as soon as I will have finished The Witcher 2 (currently halfway through, I think), I'll make sure to play To The Moon !
This is an amazing deal but $10 is a lot of money to me right now and I own most of these already elsewhere. I really want Resonance and Botanicula though, so I will have to see if I can work it out.

Fesin: Didn't know this was an oligarchy.
I think he referred to me .

keeveek: Not true. The best indie games, like Terraria, sell pretty well on their own, without any bundles.

We have hundreds of indie games every month. Why should I buy another generic 2D "retro" platformer for 9.99?

The initial asking price for many indies is too damn high, that's all. It's not like indie games are devaluated. They're not worth 10-15 bucks in the first place.
Well, I didn't want to but it *that* directly ;) You're right, the good ones aren't being thrown away by their developers. The even better ones don't even market themselves as "indy".

To me too, probably. Let him try to live for 200 EUR / month (excluding rent), and then we'll talk about "freeloaders" ;-)

I think you'll find that a lot of GOG community is able to take criticism and criticize GOG, but only for things that are objectively wrong with the service. When it comes down to subjectivity and personal opinion, yeah, GOG regulars usually aren't GOG regulars because they hate the service.
