Can I get an opinion on Signal Ops ? It sounds good on paper, but how is it really ?

Novotnus: Actually I'd love a good series where someone's ranting over bad games :)

JudasIscariot: *whispers* also it's "faced with" as facet is another thing entirely ... Just a helpful suggestion :P

JMich: Quick question, 16 digit code or 8 digit one?
I forget, what's the difference again?
Thoughts on Anodyne?

At first glance, it seems so... average.

HypersomniacLive: I forget, what's the difference again?
16 digit code is valid indefinitely. ;)
If someone gifts Shattered Haven and Stacking I'll make it up to you. There's 4 games here I don't have, but Lucius and Omerta, and the two mentioned, are all I don't own. I can't take myself to purchase Lucius and Omerta, so this is my only option

Happy Birthday, GOG! Hopefully the next 5 years will be even better for you guys ;)

Awesome promo, BTW!

You use at least two characters, each one with a monitor (in your physical monitor). Then use their specialities one at a time sneaking around using their abilities to complete your objectives.

One thing that bothered me was that the more characters you use (some missions you can choose between characters and possibly the amount but some may require a certain character) the more monitors you'll have and they become increasingly small because of that, I don't like small monitors. It becomes hard to see. Considering it's next to impossible to multi-task since it's in real-time it's possible it would have been better with one huge monitor and the others small, just to use the others as "look out" when you use your current character to move. This game definitely takes advantage of a large screen with a large resolution. Playing this on a 30" with 2560x1600 must be glorious to say the least.

FlamingFirewire: Would any of you consider Miasmata being good enough to kick any of these games off my list?

Primordia
Evoland
The Cat Lady
Penumbra Collection
Dyad

Novotnus: Played them all, here's my Best to Not-so-great list.
1. The Cat Lady - one of the best horror stories I've ever encountered in books, movies and games.
2. Primordia - what sold me to this game was a droid who put on clothes for some reason. Good, deep philosophical tale with little bits of humour. Go for it.
3. Prenumbra - two first parts are the top of survival horror. Like the genre - don't hasitate.
4. Mismata - another survival horror. Lots of survuval, not so much of horror.
5. Evoland - very interesting concept, medicore execution.
6. Dyad - plain weird :)
So would you recommend getting Miasmata or Dyad, or would you have another suggestion of a must not miss list (already own Amnesia)?

If I may humbly suggest something for that "must not miss" list, I'd like to suggest Sword of the Stars: The Pit. It's a sci-fi roguelike based on the Sword of the Stars universe. When I first heard of the game, I had no idea that I would end up actually coming in late to work because of it :D

note to self: make a GOG Mix of games that made me late to work >.>

If only the dlc was on sale too.

JMich: Be aware that a few quick tests show that the gift codes are one use only, so no splitting of the bundle :(
Unsure if that is a deliberate change or the server gnomes have been hitting the grog again, so either wait for a blue to answer the question, or buy only games you want.
Thanks for the info, I was at work when I posted so I couldn't really follow the forum but after I got home I saw what you're saying. That's sad news.

I can understand if GOG decided this kind of deal was unfair to them, but I think they could have warned us beforehand. I'm fairly certain there are people who only added one or two games they already own to their purchase because they wanted to split the code. If they knew it would be wholly on their shelves they might as well grab 2 games they didn't already own.

Still, like you said let's hear the blues.

Well, for 7 bucks you can have both as the DLC is only $5 :)

I know I'll sound biased since I work here and all, but $7 for the base game and expansion (yes, it's DLC but to me it's a damn expansion :P ) is a great deal considering that the base game alone goes for $10.

Not trying to make you purchase anything, just trying to give you some perspective on the matter :)
