Good Job Guys, I liked the first one where the armored man was hitting the keyboard with the pointy nose of his helmet. I thought the last one with the old games connoisseur was best. Sniffing a floppy to come up with "1980 ZORK"... that's funny stuff.

The general consensus is that those were the best, although I like the third one the most myself, because Krash's "Man, this is really good cake!" cracks me up every time.

The only thing I can say is never stop looking for (and demanding to a sensible degree) the "best service available" and know this is not about silly idealism (or revolutions, WTF?). This is about supporting a business model that you like because it offers what you want! Rather simple I would believe. If GOG offers a service that you prefer in contrast to the competition and if CDP offers games that you prefer in contrast to the competition, then supporting them is all about giving them what you think they deserve (ie. what they charge you) and getting what you like in return. Maybe more importantly, you ensure you'll keep getting more of what you like in the future.

So in other words, supporting those that offer the "best service available" is in your own best interests and encourages continuated getting the best service available. So you may want think more about your "I don't support anyone" policy, or not.

Now then, we need a countdown, GOG!
avatar
Paingiver: Who do you support i wonder?
avatar
bazilisek: That's very much the point. I don't support anyone. I buy games from whoever can offer them to me for the best price and with the best service available. That's all there is to it. GOG is running a business, not a fanclub.

Fuck your revolutions. I don't care for politics, I don't care for ideals. I care for the games only. And I sincerely wish everyone started looking at things that way, so that we could cut all the crap associated with all you laughable lofty idealists and wannabe Che Guevaras of digital distribution.

And by the way, I'm a very good customer of GOG. I'm just not a kindly grandmother who would applaud them for every stupid little thing they do only because they're family and I like them. Because that's not a healthy kind of relationship to have with people that actually are in your family, not to mention complete strangers on the internet.

Good night.
You don't like people of you opposite and at the same time you wish everyone be like you?
I can accept you as you are, if you don''t radiate negative posts to threads you don't agree with.

Ideals and supporting are not bad things believe me. I don't know where you get this fobia but there would be no Linux, no Android, no Wikipedia, no MAC, no GOG, and no *insert many things here* without this "laughable lofty idealists."

Very good night to you too.

Agree with painkiller.
If we had no idealists with lofty ideas we woud not have any games at all.
An idealess world woud be wery boring.
Also i quote :
V: Beneath this mask there is more than flesh. Beneath this mask there is an idea, Mr. Creedy, and ideas are bulletproof.

Wishbone: Hmm, looking closer, you write 12:00 PM EDT. Since when have you started conforming to American time zones?
avatar
TheEnigmaticT: The problem is that no matter what time zone we use, some people are confused. All of the videos are dated from GMT (if you look at the teaser time we've been publicizing), but we decided for maximum confusion, we should use EDT for the times on the newspost. :P
Enigmatic T uses Maximum confusion. It is a success!

Barefoot_Monkey: I agree. You even get some commenters who think they're clever by asking if all GOG games actually come with cake. Of course not - stop being so literal! The extras included vary from game to game, and the the majority certainly don't have cake - you get milk tart, apple strudel, crème brûlée and so on. The cake is excellent, but can you imagine how sick of cake you'd become if it came with every game? Think, people!
I love this comment so much.

I'm pretty sure "a round on me" means they're paying a round of Crusader No Regret or Baldur's Gate for everyone on site this tuesday morning.

Or perhaps some new game, since they're so keen publicize that "improvement", could be the next Syndicate or next UFO Enemy Unknown.

Can anyone point me in the direction of the video/site/news feed/internet meme that explains the cake joke? I'm completely lost...

That you've never played Portal makes me a sad panda. :(

How can I play Portal, it's not DRM free and distributed by reputable people like GOG. :D
The ads are decent, but I do have 2 complaints.

1. You had to resurrect the fucking 'The cake us a lie!' meme? Really? What's next, the goddamn Macarena? Ugh.

2. If you have to explain a joke, it isn't funny. In the 2nd ad, where the game seller rips the guy's shirt sleeve off and then has to explain "Sorry for the rip off."...ugh redux. Also, we get what the point was already. We didn't actually need to see something ripped off to understand. I realize most people won't be annoyed by this, but I get pissed off when movie directors and the like feel the need to beat the audience over the head with an idea. We're not dumb...we get it.

Anyway, I am definitely interested to see what lies ahead.
So we get cake from now on with our orders?

Please!!!!!
