Finally GOG will launch a new digital client to compete STEAM, GamersGate, Origin and Impulse !
No DRM, no regional pricing or limitation, with goodies, new games and old ones altogother.
I had a dream...

TheEnigmaticT: It's royalty-free music from a sound library. Nothing crazy going on there. ;)
Au contraire. I actually recognized that first commercial's music bed, and it is from Apple's GarageBand! I only know this because I listen to this technology podcast with an ever so slight Macintosh bias that uses this exact bed, albeit the short version of said bed, for the Chit Chat Across the Pond segment.

And that's a roundabout way of wildly speculating that Mac support has finally come to GOG.com, albeit in an extremely limited manner (possibly even the DOSBox and/or ScummVM games only at first). Especially since GOG.com almost always tends to bag on Steam's DRM, maybe DRM-free gaming and cross-platform gaming will finally merge and coexist peaceably.

OmegaX: I know the reason behind disabling GeoIP but that doesn't make it not be regional pricing. Some people might not have lied out of principle. They were forced to enable it back because the publisher wasn't happy with that and sued them. Other stores like GG comply with the publishers because they know the consequences they might face otherwise.
I agree regarding the comparison between blue coins and TW2 coupons but the ad was making it not me. The seller gives the euro guy blue coins as a compensation for regional pricing so I pointed out that the coupons for TW2 were the same thing.
Well, you are right. I might be just over-zealous fan but I think it's a bit unfair to call GOG hypocritical when all of their standard catalogue is not priced based on region and only 1 "special" game has to be sold with different prices.
I agree too, it wasn't you, who came with blue coins comparsion.
I also have to state I like GG and blu coins. :-)
i dont know what they did after witcher 2's launch, but i remember when i preordered it, they offered the difference in price between $ and € as credit to buy more games without actually paying. so i think the balance of pricing was kept
Too bad about the continuity error: guy putting on gloves, guy putting on helmet with bare hands...
Great humouristic criticism on Gamersentrance (Gamersgate) and their annoying "blue coins"-system. Another pain-in-the-ass rip-off is Steam, but hey, their sales are awesome sometimes.
It'll be tough to compete with that ...

Sorry, dude. The guys who edited the videos did so on a Mac. Not to be a buzzkill, or anything.

Wait, I'm hardly living up to my nickname here; I'm being entirely too forthright.

Um...

There. That should be enigmatic enough to uphold my reputation. ;)

I was hoping no one would notice that. >.>

"Also, at least two of the speculations i've seen in this thread about our releases next week are correct"

Not too enigmatic if someone like me can solve it :P

Damn you! Got it now. :-)
I can see a simple Caesar cipher isn't complication enough; I guess I'll have to try harder next time. :)
Steam: CHECK
Gamersgate: CHECK

"Cake-eating customers", eh? ...
It might be a reference to "the cake is a lie" a.k.a. one of Portal's catchphrases.
The retail copies of Valve games were published by Electronic Arts.
Their (america only) retail-web-shop was called Origin and is now also offering games digitally.

So Origin is the next I guess...

I'm enjoying these, it's fun to see GOG poke fun at other DD services. Remember when Sega and Nintendo or Windows and Mac would make fun of each other? Or how older titles would have all kinds of jokes about other games and gaming companies? I love that.

Good commercials.

Look GOG is not responsible for what languages a game is available in no more then any other store or retailer, that is the developer and publishers job and in the case of GOG's current library it's not really possible unless there were versions of that game done in multiple languages since that would require the publisher to go back and rewrite the entire game's text and no publisher in their right mind are going to bother with 10 to 20 year old games and if there are versions that are done in a different language then it's the publishers responsibly to supply them to GOG pending they can even find copies of those versions.
