One of the music in the commercial is from Bastion.
The second ad is up. Did the seller give the euro guy blue coins? They looked like blue coins to me =/

Edit: Yeah, I noticed the Bastion music too.

yup PMSL
These adds would make their points just as well, perhaps even better, if they weren't so openly attacking competitors.

The DRM point was okay, the regional pricing one good. But judging by the next two CM titles, why no mention of regional restrictions which are just as bad, if not worse than regional pricing? At least people can buy the games in that case! Or is that because GOG are struggling with a way to point out Impulse? U_U
Apparently the Bastion thing is just royalty free music, it's been in other OST before.
The second commercial is very, very true, the attitude of DD serices and publishers today seems to be: "What? you mean you aren't from the US? Well Fuck you then!

Also: gotta love the Jab at GamersGate with the blue coins
Well, I admit I kinda like how the AUD has been strong against the US dollar this year. Saves a little here and there.
Loving the commercials so far, but anyone else starting to wonder about the Telltale games music in the first video and now music from Bastion? Maybe we can expect Bastion(which would be nice) and the Telltale games library.
The Enigmatic T is kicking ass in the name of GOG.
Nice! Looking forward to the next big reveal!
So, wait, should I reference video 2 when GOG charges me more for The Witcher 2 than they do a non-European/Australian and offers me not-money as compensation?

(Don't worry, even knowing there was a simple workaround back then, I opted for the European price.)

:-P

Well, if they say flat prices worldwide, they mean no regional restriction too.
I guess those coins are a reference to 9.99$ and 5.99$ coupons that European and Australian players get for regional pricing...

That's what I thought too. If GOG wasn't selling Witcher 2 with regional pricing they would have a point but right now it looks a little hypocritical. At least blue coins can be used to buy any game. I may have gotten more free games from GG than payed games from GOG.

towerbooks3192: Yeah games need no armour. Steam is not that worst. Tell that to Ubi. Everytime I see a ubi game in store it is a cursed mark and should be avoided like the plague because of its Dreaded DRM of Doom.

I felt sorry for the developers of Anno 2070. Its a great game to the point that I bought it despite its DRM. Paying customers shouldn't be punished and treated like pirates.

No DRM is the reason why I love GOG aside from the cool game line-ups
Anno 2070's online system is pretty bad, but at least you can play offline, granted sans Ark storage, profile perks, etc.--that's the biggest insult in how that game's online system was implemented.

Ubisoft's Always-On DRM and Steam are equally bad to me. Steam's offline mode never worked properly for me, so being offline and wanting to play a Steam game--like for a few days when my ISP had a sudden regional service outage and there was no warning that i should put Steam into offline mode--was always a bigger barrier than the server trouble with Anno 2070. Haven't got any real Always-On games, but I imagine the experience is the same as trying to get a Steam game to run when you don't have a connection to put Steam into offline mode.

I also love how so many people take issue with Origin's privacy policy while at the same time having no issue with Steam sending hardware configurations, etc. back to their cloud for analysis and graphing. The ads when you close a game irked me, too. Peddle your hats to someone else.

Back on topic edit: I can't wait to see what GOG does on Tuesday. And if they start reworking games to remove cloud-based DRM like Steamworks, etc, I could die happy Tuesday afternoon.
