PoSSeSSeDCoW: Actually, he only said King's Quest 1-6 work. King's Quest VII as it doesn't use DOSBox (or the DOS version at all), doesn't seem to work on newer computers.

Khalaq: This is exactly why I eschew buying old games off of Steam. They don't give a rat's fart about the quality of what they're selling, they just slap it in there and let the buyer beware.
I agree, however, that the Chief Moron, in this case, is Activision. Releasing shoddy games hurts both your sales and your reputation. (It could be argued that Activision has already lost their rep, but I digress.) It is waaaaaaay more cost-effective to spend a bit of money to produce a quality product. Not only will the product sell better, but people will be interested in buying the next product.
I think the COO of Activision should be fired and replaced by someone who has some business sense.

If I were working for a company I'd be beyond embarrassed if I had to slap a "Doesn't work on Vista tag" especially two years after the OS's release. Try a little.
Also, I could be wrong (and someone correct me if I am) but I'm pretty sure the DOS version of King's Quest VII does work under DOSBox, so all they had to do was slap on the DOS version instead of the Windows one.
I bought both King's Quest and Space Quest the second I saw them on Steam because I have never owned any of the games (legally) and the price is just 15 Euro for both collections combined. I guess something even remotely resembling a genuine effort from the publisher's side would have been appreciated, but seeing as we're talking about downloadable packages at a very reasonable price per game I feel it's almost not worth the effort to complain...
Hooray for regional restrictions! I can only see the newer games that were released, no Kings or Space questing :|
Ah but as a consolation you get the golf game for $0.10!
http://store.steampowered.com/app/10140/?cc=au
Or at least until Valve realise their **** up. Too bad that price isn't offered here, as for $0.10, I'd snap it up even if it were crap >_>

Oh wow, didn't notice that :)
My credit card and/or bank charges are likely going to be higher than the actual game!
My current country doesn't match the billing address. What the hell?
Whatever. I am so sick of Steam. Had lots of purchase problems before, and now again. :/

Hah! Still going to be less than the $7.49 the price should be though, right?

Um, you don't live in Australia, right? That link I posted is only usable (ie, only purchases can be made) by those in Australia.

What is your Steam-Community ID / ? Can't promise anything myself, in the middle of a personal/family day, but others are around.

Hello all,
Great tip
It worked from me too ^^
Will they remove the game from my steam list or charge my credit for more when they discover their mistake? :p

Most likely not. They have never removed games or tried to charge more when they have made similar errors in the past. Of course, none have been as large as this, but that still doesn't really give them the right to cancel purchases that have already been made.
