Dzsono: But I didn't realise just how many exciting titles there are in the pipeline :D

A list of space sci-fi/fantasy games you can't miss in 2014
Thanks for this post ! I had no idea a new galactic civilization was in the works !

Can't find any information about the combat system...Do you know if it will have some kind of real strategic combat like the one in Moo2 ? (the best there is obviously for this kind of games :p ).

Edit: after roaming the boards a bit, it seems there will not be any kind of tactical combat once again. Oh well...i guess i won't buy it then, i liked galciv2 but the lack of tactical combat ultimately made it boring for me.

Anyone have any experience playing Alpha/beta of Star Citizen or Elite. I was wondering if they have flight stick controls or is it strictly gamepad or keyboard and mouse. They both look great from what I've seen.

I've seen people asking in forums about what kind of flight stick they should get for Star Citizen. Given the responses I'd suggest it's very much supported. I don't know about Elite, but I'd be amazed if there was no support.
Ooh another excuse to mention Julian Gollop's Chaos Reborn:
http://www.gollopgames.com/2012/11/chaos-reborn.html

assuming he gets it finished this year!

Also, aren't there some obvious ones missing - The Witcher 3 (I think Cyberpunk 2088 is going to take a bit longer IIRC) and the kickstarters - The new Torment thing, Wasteland 2, Project Eternity etc.

Do games in Steam early access count? Daedalic's Black Guards if so

Nor does Age of Wonders, Worlds of Magic or Warlock 2 even Xenonaughts and Warhammer 40K are probably set mostly on a planet's surface...
Does Starbound count? It'd be cool to see Trillek out this year :)
I am more of a Fantasy guy than Sci-fi (though I love metroid so much and other games) I cannot wait for Star Citizen, I hope this game will be faithful to Wing Commander and Star Wars X-Wing/TIE Fighter games mabye now I can be truly introduced to the Space Sim Genre.

I am also buying a $1,385 Desktop this year using the recommend specs for Star Citizen, if I can play that game I can play anything (including Witcher 3?)

That is great news. I'll have to start shopping for one, or steal my old one back from nephew. I'll probably just get another Saitek.

I think the original article is a bit misleading. It talks about space scifi themes mostly (2-3 are fantasy) - but most of the games listed are either 4X or sim related. Nothing rpg related :D

Yeah, OK ,I still think Chaos reborn counts and maybe Black Guards (RPG / Strat hybrid like HoMM or Kings Bounty as far as I can work out) unless OP want space based only
As usual, I don't see Starlight Inception mentioned anywhere. According to their latest early access update on Steam, they are planning a full release this month.

I need a new flight stick. I only have a $10 one with two buttons that I bought like 15 years ago. And I can't plug it in because I don't have a sound card with a game port...

Props for making a list, Dzsono. +1

Another great link. Thank you!

P.S. Buy a good flight stick; try and spend more than $10 on the next one ;) Thrustmaster is a solid choice.

I added the non-space games from the article relunctantly just because they were there. I was primarily focussing on space titles because I think there's already another thread(s) about anticipated titles in 2014. That's not to say I don't care about Blackguards, for example, but from now on I'm just adding space games. Blackguards is going to be awesome, though :D
