keeveek: The true political corectiveness will be broken if you include black guy character with thief class, and who restores HP by eating KFC ;-)
This. (would also be most racist I've ever seen on a game. And you forget the grape soda as MP potion ;-P )

As a lover of Israel and many Jews (Wait, that sounds weird.. anyway), I approve this class and I don't think anybody should be offended by it.

What? You can't say NAGGERS? How odd. 0.o

Also I wonder if chef will make an appearance seeing as how his voice actor got upset over the whole scientology episodes incident & all.
Yep, my post with N word was annihilated in seconds :P

edit: it appears that I was just to drunk to put my post in correct thread, so no censorship occured :P

It'd be funny(not to say such but to see it when idiots posted such) if it filtered to roody poo like on other sites.

kalmis666: Is that supposed to be funny or offensive? Don't get it

GameRager: It's a long running gag in the series......Cartman(the fat one) makes fun of Kyle for being a jew all the time, but ends up getting made fun of in the end for his racist tendencies and shortcomings.
And being fat ... I mean big-boned.

tryingnewstyle: I second that. Why a south park game? Why not alpha protocol 2? A brand new IP? Who´s publishing this? Oh, and I'm almost 100% this game will be steamworks on the pc.

elisstar: Probably because Alpha Protocol was a criticial failure and didn't live up to it's potential, even though some people, like myself, enjoy it. From a business perspective, it would be hard to get fund for a sequel to a game that sold so poorly.

When they announced a South Park RPG, I had the same WTF reaction, but now I say, go for it, Obsidian. Do it right. I'm not a huge fan of the show, but I might still buy the game if they can pull it off. I love that it will be turn-based.

Plus, it's rumored that they may be working on a Wheel of Time RPG, right?
I believe Sega owns the Alpha Protocol name and they seemed to screw Obsidian almost as hard as Lucasarts did. I would prefer a new IP, I remember that Black Isles had a game planned that took place in an exotic fantasy world that was similar to planescape but different enough before they went belly up and I really wish it was made, I didn't care about Fallout: Random President's name project.

as for Southpark, I'm hoping it's the game where Obsidian pulls it together but I'm not the most optimistic. Turnbased combat is going to have timed button presses, my experience with that mechanic is that it's a crutch for a shallow combat system and deep combat systems tend to be better when not having them.

I have a feeling that they probably won't find a publisher for Wheel of Time. The series hasn't fared well since the death of the Author and I really think it doesn't have the popularity to make a viable video game anymore. I heard plans to have it brought back and Written by Robert Jorden's Wife, but I think it would be lucky to even come close to the success of the Dune Reboot, which a common feeling is that it's a poor shadow of what it once was.

Timed button presses?! I hadn't heard that. Yuck...

It has already happened. His wife Harriet is still the editor, but the author that is finishing the series is the very talented Brandon Sanderson. Two books have already been released - The Gathering Storm and Towers of Midnight. And they are great. I believe the last book is due to come out in early 2012.

That's good, nice to hear that the reboot is going well.

Lol not ALL QTE games are filled with such button presses or bad. :)

Lol keep trying. Some are hella easy(God of War has alot but some you just have to tap the button alot and it will always work, while some is down to random buttons appearing onscreen.), and some are just plain difficult(Severances weapon combos for example).

For me I find it's how one holds the controller that determines if it's easy or not to do the combos right. I usually keep my right hand loosely gripped on the controller to allow the thumb to be able to hit the QTE buttons easier. :\

It's not a reboot, at all. Before he died, Jordan wrote the outline for the ending of the series, and Sanderson is basically filling in what Jordan didn't finish. Sanderson's writing is a real homage to Jordan. Even if you're not a fan of the series at all, it's nice to see that a it's being concluded by someone who seems to genuinely respect what the work is about.

There are a few stories on the side, but the Sanderson books aren't a reboot at all.

I didn't mean it in a bad way. It stopped when Robert Died and then Restarted when Sanderson started to write again, ergo: a Reboot.

For me, unfortunately it's a medical issue. The nerves (and thus my reflexes) are completely screwed in my right hand. For some games it's not a problem, but for others, like Indigo Prophecy, the game became unplayable at a early point. Such a shame, too, because I was really getting into it until trying that office QTE 1,000,000 times and finally quit before I put my fist through my monitor in frustration.

Anyway, that's why I like turn based combat so much!
