They just won't quit SOPA is back again. This time it's targeting fanfics, fan art, fan sites, and fan videos.

Way too little information provided. No link to the alleged bill, no explanation of the alleged problems, actually there's not even any proof that "SOPA 2014" actually exists. Do you expect us to petition against something which we can't even have a look at and which might not even exist?

Yeah like Google is just going to give up its second most used website in the that easily.

Also I like how blunt this new SOPA is, its basically just being honest and saying:

"Yeah we want to take down Youtube,Deviantart, Fanfiction, oh yeah and pirate bay to appease the corporation so they can give us money."

No way anybody would try to push a bill called SOPA 2014. The name is already compromised. Honest politician. You don't see those today :)

Well, where did you find out, and which sources did you check to make sure that it isn't just fake? Could you share those sources with us?

I said it before and I'll say it again: they'll keep trying and coming at it again and again from various angles until they get it passed. Eventually we'll all be fucked.

Indeed, I also fail to see how this would shutdown any of those sites as they also have a lot of materials that aren't fanfic as well. And as it stands now, they can already have fanfic taken down if it violates their rights, so this may bring additional restrictions, if true, but a lot of that was legal grey area to begin with. As a deviantArt user, I understand your sentiment to slam shut the site, but it is a pretty nice community, if not staffed by incompetent boobs.

I'm not a deviantart user (well I am, but just a passive one) and I absolutely don't understand the sentiment to shut the site. I've found so many absolutely amazing works of art in there, such a crazy amount of talented people. And yes, 90% of everything is shit. It always is.

There are three simple rules for deviantArt for good mental health:

1. NEVER LOOK IN NEWEST
2. Turn on the mature filter if you're a prude.
3. Don't mind the infestations of irrelevant fandoms, they aren't going anywhere.
