Trilarion: Apart from the number one could also discuss the quality of the games. While there is the occasional AAA classic, there are also many mediocrea classic releases this year. Also I find some of the new Indie releases a bit boring or not very innovative. Not all released games here are really great.

It doesn't mean they are outright bad and other gamers might like them, but just looking at the pure numbers is not telling you how many good games there are released.

But as long as you keep at least one focus on good old games and assure that you publish all that you can get... people should be satisfied.

TheEnigmaticT: Game quality is such a subjective thing that's hard as hell to judge. Just to clarify: you're saying that of Carmageddon, Blitzkrieg 2, BioForge, and Metal of Honor, none of these were "really great"? Because you'll find that most everyone else on the site loved one of those.

I'd also suggest you look at the release schedule for a random month in 2010. The same month we released Betrayal at Krondor, we also released MOO 3, Sniper Elite, and Blood II. Those games are all loved by someone, but each appeals to a different segment, and if you liked BaK, odds are you wouldn't like MOO 3 or Sniper Elite. That's how it always goes. Sorry to hear that we haven't released something that you like recently, but I'm sure you'll find something to your tastes soon enough. :)
I admittedly find a sort of "shitty charm" in games like Blood 2 :)

It's like watching a funny bad movie.

Wait, you single out Blood 2 as a bad game from a list that includes MoO 3?

Well, MoO 3 is just plain bad. I only want that for completion sake :P
+1 because I have similar feelings (and to offset the downratings from crotchety members), even about the website dedicated to new games.
Personally I'd think that a whole separate website might have worked better because of marketing purposes (people still view GOG as "Good Old Games"; that term is still flying around the web, even as "formally Good Old Games"), maybe with a single account linked between the two sites, but I could be wrong.

Right now it's just a little frustrating to look at the "New and Coming" and see only two old games and the rest newer games. But we have had some good releases in the last few weeks, too.

It is what it is. :P

True. Try selecting the "New & Coming" tab now. Older games are taking a backstage.
