Kabuto: It could be worse. Your boss could tell you that your next task is to add facebook integration to the company website while the social networking coordinator (are you kidding me, that's a job title?) harasses you when things don't look exactly right.

SimonG: Who knows, maybe twenty years ago people were thinking the same thing about the internet. I mean, how many people have said back then "we don't need a homepage"....

SimonG: This is always an option I like to consider... ;-)
Okay but if your the communications coordinator, it's silly to add "and social networking" to your title because social media basically makes their communication job (aka marketing) more convenient and cheaper. It's not an added responsibility.

Thanks for your responses, everyone.
For now, I'll just let the account stay in a limbo state. If the creator (this "István Bitó", who I certainly am not, though our first names match) sends me an e-mail (after all, he knows my e-mail address) asking me to give him his profile back, I'll give him the new pw for the FB account and ask him to give an other e-mail address, otherwise I'll ask for its deletion.

Which one do you mean? In that, I only got an e-mail confirmation link with a confirmation code, no "I did not request this" link.

Below that should have been a "I did not request this account" link hidden as normal text

Nope, below that are only "Welcome to Facebook! The Facebook Team" and "Registration not successful? Please, let us know" (The last part is in hypertext.)
There is absolutely no I did not request this link.
