In the dim and distant past, songs were censored on the radio lest little timmy hear the word fuck in a song and proceed to destroy society as we know it. It seems activision are rekindling that fine old world custom

got to wonder why they didnt just find songs they wouldnt edit rather than include songs and then mess with them. I remember the Disturbed song Liberate being in one of the Tony Hawk games I think and being a generally pointless inclusion by the time what felt like a third of the song had been cut

Because this way they can claim that they're using popular songs in their game, which'll hopefully lead to more people buying the game?
Whether you're disappointed afterwards because the songs were censored beyond all recognition isn't their problem since they have your money?

Well it IS activision. Their business model these days seems to be to seduce rubes with shiny things, get them to buy it and before they can really complain how shallow and crap it is, come out with something shinier
Seriously? Mother F**KERS. Activision is a blight on the gaming world, and someone needs to remove that blight, fast.
Also, did you hear about Activision pissing off No Doubt by giving them the same treatment they gave Kurt Kobain? Analysts have discussed that the music community is insular, and this could seriously damage any relationship they may have with artists.
Band Hero was designed to be marketed to younger audiences. Hence the cuts. I know they are completely stupid and that you can hear worse innuendo in most cartoons these days, but thats what Activision does to ensure an E rating. Blame the ESRB more than Activision.
And the No Doubt thing, yeah, blame Activision all you want :P

Am I the only one who finds it ironical that you censor your own post while complaining about Activision censoring songs? "Mother FUCKERS". See? Not really all that dangerous. And especially silly and futile with the ridiculous "insert-asterisks-in-the-middle-of-the-word" mode of censorship, where it's blindingly obvious what it was supposed to say.
It's OK, I'm still content with Guitar Praise.

I did it because of the article, but you're right, it would've been better if I had done something like write a blank line like ___________. It would've been more directly associated with what they're doing.

Ah, okay. I thought you actually meant it.
