I love M&M 7. I made a point of honor in beating the dragon from the small island at the beginning of the game with that low level party. Very satisfying.

In for Millenium 2. Thanks for the GA and +1
Thank you for your continuous giveaways, but I'm not in. I will answer your question, though.

I always found the beginning of Planescape Torment most surprising and weird. Controlling a grey-skinned dude lying on a slab? Check. Standing up from said slab and realize that you are in a mortuary? Check. Have a flying skull approach you and talk casually like nothing serious happened? Check. Said skull telling you that you have a whole freaking journal written on your back? Check. Realizing that you are immortal? Uh-huh, whatever you say game.

I think this is the essence of RPGs, beating the odds and getting mad rewards for it. That's why level scaling sucks.
In for Heroes of a Broken Land. +1, and thanks for your giveaways.

My perennial favorite RPG has and will likely always will be Icewind Dale, with Avernum 6 being a close second. Some of my best computer RPG memories were made in Icewind Dale, with protracted battles of attrition against seemingly endless waves of undead in The Shattered Hand. A lot of people didn't like it because it lacked the personality of the Baldur's Gate series, but to me, that was the greatest strength of Icewind Dale. Because the characters were all effectively blank slates, that meant that I could use my imagination to inject my own personalities and stories into their actions.
Planescape Torment is my favourite, actually I think that's the best RPG of all time. Why? Because when you start playing you know nothing about your story, about the world around you, everything is a very exiting surprise. That's like you are in an interactive movie. Also, it's D&D which is my favourite pnp RPG.

I'm in for Septerra Core, and thank you! :)
Arcanum remains my favorite rpg ever. The character creation system with its amazingly diverse backgrounds, the diverging paths of technology and magic, the tophats... But, the thing that knocked me off my feet was the moment [SPOILER IMMINENT] when Virgil just left the party muttering something about having to go do something. Not only did that blow me away, but then to track him down again, find out what had happened and then go on from there... So nice, made the world really come alive in my imagination.

I'd like to be in, please, for Hack, Slash, Loot.

Cheers.
Demon's Souls. One of the few RPGs that invoke a sense of fear done right.

Only con is some bosses can be annoying like FlameLurker, Man-Eater, and the Final boss of Bolertaria Castle which can actually drain a level from you forcing you to level up an attribute again.

I am in for Septerra Core.

I'm in for Septerra core.

My favourite RPG would have to be the elder scrolls 3: Morrowind. The huge map plus excellent music and quests means that I can months if not years playing this game. The later installments to the elder scrolls series don't come close to it.

Thanks for give away :).
Nice GA and +1 for you.

In for:
Septerra Core: Legacy of the Creator (GOG)

I don't have a desura account.

Let's see, my favorite RPG is Darklands because it has real elements like aging. Background sound is very immersive and the fact that your characters age and start losing stats was also new in those days. I also like the fact that you have a reputation that affects how people treat you. You can decide to become a Legendary Heroe or a Wanted Criminal so I also like that.

That's why I consider it to be the best RPG ever, even more than Ultima IV or Ultima VI or Ultima VII.
Would love Heroes of a Broken Land

My favorite story about my favorite all time game, which is an RPG concerns Fallout3.

When you go through the Robot Factory, you go into one of the toilets, and open a stall door, and there's a wrecked robot sitting/leaning on the john. You pick him up out of the way and look in the bottom of the toilet and there's a nice pile of.... scrap metal..... (What were you expecting??? It's a ROBOT)

Funny stuff.

Thanks for your generosity, Triock-san! ;)

Please, count me in for Septerra Core: Legacy of the Creator.

I ain't able to choose only one favorite game (so many of them are favorite of mine), but I'm very fond of the first Baldur's Gate, as it introduced me to cenital RPGs, which I still love. I enjoyed so much the great length of the title, the stories, great and small, which were unraveled through the plot, and of course, the banter between my party's characters. :)
What I liked most about Betrayal at Krondor is the open world. You could just ignore the main storyline and go explore the world map for treasure and sidequests, and in certain cases the game mechanics even encourage it. The only barrier being the increased difficulty of side areas and some plot-reasons to close off sections of the map. But old school gamers know that the best way to get to Krondor is the long way around.

Count me in for Septerra Core please
Not in, but thank you triock ! :-)

My favorite RPG is Deus Ex series. I didn't play Invisible War yet, but Deus Ex and Human revolution are masterpieces ! My birthday present was Deus Ex The Fall, and I can't wait to play it. Not for the game itself, because I know it's not so good than a true Deus Ex, but I'm in love of the universe of Human Revolution.
Not in - But here is something from My Favorite RPG Series - Wizardry
