Hello.
So, I play Vanguard: Saga of Heroes and I'd love to be able to play with someone else. I play on the Xeth server, and would be willing to remake a character to have someone to play with.
You can get the trial here. If you like it, you can just subscribe, you do not have to buy the game.
Also, if anyone thinks their computer can't run it - my laptop runs it on medium specs, and it has an intel graphics card and is otherwise as mediocre. :)
Just wondering.
While I have no time to play an MMO, this game was freaking awesome. Never have I felt like I was part of a living, breathing world in an MMO as much as in this game. If this game was heavily populated I think I'd be totally addicted.
That's the mmo I would play if I had time.

The game is quite a bit more populated now. 95% of the time all servers are usually around medium, and peak they may even be full. (Thats I believe 6k people on the server).
I wanted to like Vanguard - I subscribed several times - but it just isn't for me, for a number of reasons. It has the potential for great coop PVE and class dynamics, but I kinda gave up on that potential being fulfilled.
My personal favorite (EQ2) has been going downhill for a few years now, though, and there aren't any other upcoming MMOs that interest me, so maybe someday I'll try Vanguard again. They certainly reactivate my account often enough.

EQ2 disappointed me a lot. I played for 2 years or so, then stopped a couple years and I came back when Kunark came out. Yuck. I quit before I was done questing Kunark and I don't think I'll ever go back to EQ2. I didn't like the "shattered lands" in the first place.
Like I said I would gladly play Vanguard if I had time, or even go back to EQ1 (for nostalgia sake).
:)
Vangaurd... wasn't that the one that trainwrecked after it's release?

Echoes of Faydwer is probably where the game was at its height. Go too far back towards launch and it's a player-hating mess; go past level 70 and its blood starts to thin. Kunark in particular is a disaster (my guild knows very well how much I hate that place). Save for Domino, the current dev team frankly doesn't have a clue.
I have many criticisms of Everquest 2, but the core of it all is still strong enough that it remains my favorite. Still, I'm chiefly there because my guild is there - otherwise I wouldn't be playing an MMO right now.

Yeah, three years ago. It runs on pretty much anything now, and there are very few bugs left in the game.
If anyone is interested, here are some videos of the game on YouTube:

Has the team been able to start looking forward, yet? The last time I subscribed was when the rather unpopular GU4 was released (I later tried out the Isle of Dawn, but didn't resubscribe). At that point, my impression was that the team was still trying to figure out what they wanted to do with the game, and their focus was mostly on developing a design framework and fixing the game.

PvE, they just raised the level cap and put in the third chapter of an entirely new zone for it 'Magi Hold'. We've been getting updates on a monthly/bi-monthly bases for some time now.

Oh, that's cool. It was 3-4 months between updates, back then.
Have they done anything to the tanking or target force mechanics? I found tanking in Vanguard to be awkward and aggravating - which put me off, because I prefer to play tanks. I played a warrior to level 25 or 30, I think.

Well my main is a Paladin, which is an okay tank. They overhauled a lot of the class balances back in early '09 if I remember correctly. I played it in '08 and found it a tad annoying, came back in '09 and have found it a lot better.
I play Vanguard
...in Mass Effect 2 motherf***er!
