michaelleung: Reminds me of that time Romulus sold his Steam account for a sandwich. Where was Joystiq when he did THAT, I ask.

Romulus: I am the stuff of legends :D

Anyone who wants to relive the experience can get their fix right here

I know that a Steam account is literally worthless, but when I look at the physical copies of games I have, I know that they're also nearly worthless. Except for the odd game that's worth $20-$50, they are barely worth having except for playing or giving to others to play. Video games just aren't worth much money... I certainly don't look at them as investments.
It's only worthless if you want to sell them.

My Steam account is not worthless to me.

Very true, my GOG account has no monetary value per se, but it has a very high value to me, so I understand completely where you're coming from.
Well sure, I value mine as well, I was just speaking in terms of it's ability to be turned into money.
necroposting fuck!!!!
Y'know, there are plenty of new threads to post in if people are bored xD

If you're thinking of turning your collection into money... then that's another topic altogether. ^^; *shrugs*

Namur: clicky.
many thanks! :)
Actually no difference to GOG. Also selling GOG games on Ebay would be illegal. Only difference though: GOG cannot shut down your account afterwards (or can do so, but cannot cut you off from playing).

It's an example of the modern consumer world. When you die, all your assets die with you.

Actually I am planning to give all my GOGs to my eldest son - as part of the family heirloom - illegal, but right according to a higher morale. :)
