Really. And Joystiq apparently found it newsworthy to cover it. Now Valve and their tactical commandos will swoop in and hanbammer the bastard.
How much, you ask? The listing is at $1,000 US. Nobody's bid on it, probably because nobody has the balls to bid on what may end up becoming a banned account anyway.
Reminds me of that time Romulus sold his Steam account for a sandwich. Where was Joystiq when he did THAT, I ask.

Looks like its been pulled. Did he have any good games or was it all the bargain bin bollocks that floods the place?
Does it have the dates for the purchase on there? Wonder if he just bought up big during the sale and was trying to turn a quick buck

...ahh, the funny turn of events, when a STEAM user finnaly realises his [problably highly expensive] back catalog is worthless to anyone, and is problably money he/she won't ever get a return from, nor actuall enjoyment on a post-steam near future. Its a bit like trying to sell a PSP Go i suppose (heck, even a 'normal' PSP if the user has an account in use). Kinda puts in perspective all your videogame buyings from there on. It happens with other digital systems too, i'm sure, but this makes it so that you now know what you're buying, or you're stuck with a worthless pile of digital poo forever :] ...

You do realize that I am pretty sure it is against the rules to sell your GoG account too, right? :p
At the very least, GoG has the catch-all "GOG reserves the right to refuse registration of or to cancel any user account at any time for any reason" clause.

Some of the comments on this article are talking about how the buyer left feedback screaming "SCAM!" and this is the second time this same buyer has done so. We're dealing with a fraudulent buyer here...

Well to me it seems he got about everything from christmas sale and now wants to sell those games to get more money. At least many titles are too obscure to be bought without any special sale at "normal" price and guy still lists "normal" prices for them... Ofc, it's the official value for them but come on now...
