The next Frictional game has been (somewhat) revealed! So far, there's only a live action trailer, but it seems to be very much like SCP.
I have heard of it. I find it great that they want to focus on horror than survival. I am unable to enjoy games like Penumbra but I can imagine myself playing something similar to Alien (the movie) pretty well.

By the way, when people talk about SCP, do they mean this? I'm aware only of the secure copy transfer.

It's basically a series of creepypasta creatures/items that were "contained" by the foundation to protect humanity. SCP stands for Security Containment Protocol, and the Foundation's motto is "Secure. Contain. Protect."
This definitely piques my interest. Hopefully it's as terrifying as the original Amnesia.
From Wikipedia

Soma (Sanskrit सोम sóma), or Haoma (Avestan), from Proto-Indo-Iranian *sauma-, was a Vedic ritual drink of importance among the early Indo-Iranians, and the subsequent Vedic and greater Persian cultures. It is frequently mentioned in the Rigveda, whose Soma Mandala contains 114 hymns, many praising its energizing qualities. In the Avesta, Haoma has the entire Yašt 20 and Yasna 9-11 dedicated to it.

I hope the game use the concept from Indian folklore. It's a good unexplored source and can be a good horror source.

While I completely agree, I think (since the game was made by a Western studio) that the title is more likely to be a reference to the greek word for "body".
Very interesting . Video was a bit creepy and also piqued my interest.

nightrunner227: Well, that's also (directly) based on SCP, but ...
I see. Interesting. Thanks for the explanation, nightrunner227 :).

Your definition of soma is actually quite familiar in the West, probably due to Huxley's Brave New World. But based on the teaser content, Psyringe's definition seems to be apt.
Finally got around to watching the these first two teasers. Looking forward to finding out more. This ought to be good. ;)
Interesting, those vids remind me of Warehouse 13 or Sanctuary, but with more of a sci-fi robot/computer theme.

Unfortunately those same vids make me want to see more vids, not play a game based on them...
