I've always been a big fan of naming things for what they are.
I am therefore very much in favor of taking the "Christ" out of "Christmas", because let's face it, the vast majority of people who celebrate it couldn't care less if it had to do anything with Christ or not. For most people it's either a celebration of the family, or of consumerism, the religious aspects have degraded into nothing more than traditional accessories. You may bemoan that or be happy about it (personally I simply don't care much because I believe there are bigger problems to worry about), but that's how the situation is currently.
Criticizing GOG for not adhering to a term that has degraded into an empty shell is, at best, silly.
