Solaris was a game for the Atari 2600 that came out in 1986. it was programmed by Douglas Neubauer. A very simple premise - find the planet Solaris - that was made fune by having to navigate a maze of planets to find it, along with encountering hostile and friendly forces. If there was any game that deserves to be released on here, this would be one. Am I the only one who is feeling this game??????????

What in the hell.
Was this based on Lem's brilliant novel and/or Tarkovsky's equally brilliant film adaptation of said novel?...somehow?
At this point in time GOG only offers DOS and Windows games.

If at all, it can only be very loosely so. As far as I recall, the novel starts with the main character being stationed on Solaris, so looking for it isn't really in the story.

This wasn't based on any novel or film. it is just an old school Atari game that was a lot of fun back in the day. But since GOG only does Windows and DOS for the moment, it is really a moot point.

Your wish is my command ;-)
I really, really thought that someone was trying to run games on Oracle's OS and asking for help. Now i'm glad that i have a new Atari game to hunt for.

Oracle owns Sun? WHAA?

Holy cow. I haven't heard anything about that. Still, it happened less than two months ago, so calling Solaris "Oracle's OS" is probably giving Oracle more credit than they deserve. That's like crediting Bobby Kotick with the fantastic success of Diablo 2.
