Anyone see the solar eclipse this morning? I had completely forgotten about it until I went outside and thought it was a bit dark :D

Last one till 2025, too.
Yes, I watched it from Chile yesterday in the afternoon (like 8 PM). It was nice, just before and during the dusk. And from the TV news, I watched how it was in Australia, and there it was completely dark and beautiful. I guess since New Zealand is close to Australia, could be like that too.
Last time we had one here in Europe was in the late 90s if I recall, and on that day we had thick cloud cover.

As it stands, yesterday's solar eclipse occurred while it was night here, so we were SOOL.

August 11th 1998, not completely sure about the year, day and month are sure because it was my brother's birthday. Those things happen more often than we usually imagine, it's just that with 75% water surface on Earth, we don't really hear of most.

Every good book about solar system have a table with dates and locations of eclipses, for those who ask themselves when is the next at their place.

Wasn't dark dark like it was in Aussie, we only got a partial eclipse, but it was still pretty dark, especially since it was bright and sunny earlier. :)
