About the subiect - it all depends what you sign. Some companies want you to sign a document that stops you from working for their competitors some time after you stop working for them. Pretty reasonable - I don't think a company would like someone to take its secret to the competition.
If they don't have any signed document, you should be safe.

Look thru the many pages of Non-Disclosure and Confidentiality agreements you signed in multiple places when you "joined" the software company. Then there is the legality of what you did, according to the laws of your country.
mmm is this some kind of trolling post? o.O

i looked it. All the procedure was going by mail. they sent me the joining letter by mail and they wanted that i accept it. so i replied that "Thank you for your offer letter and i will be joining on <date>".
and in the joining letter they wrote that -
"In case you wish to resign your employment with the company, a mandatory notice period of 1 (One) month would have to be served by you."

Or what??

You should be talking to a local attorney concerning legal matters . . . posting on a gaming forum not so much. If you are genuine and intelligent enough to work for a software company you should be able to find legal council in your country???
