The pre-order and other discounts are kinda throwing me off. I'm guessing the new points are like $12, $15, and $20, or just $15 and $20. Can anyone confirm?
Why do there have to be pricepoints? I think it's gonna depend on the games they manage to get and what the publisher is willing to put up with as a price.

I wouldn't assume anything as fixed as a pricepoint anymore when it comes to newer games.

For the classics they said they were going to keep to the 5.99/9.99 ones.
Legend of Grimrock normal price is $14.99, so I guess it's just $15 and $20.
I think is just $15 and $20.
Even when the usual price points where 6.99 and 9.99, it was up to the publisher to decide, that's why a lot of games were 9.99 although they did not deserve it. I suppose GOG now offers a bit more flexibility, but I don't think we'll see a $30 game here just yet (unless it's completely new that is).
There are no pricepoints for newer games. Some will cost 11.99, some 14.99 , some 19.99 , heck, maybe some will cost 25.99?

But for oldies, pricepoints remain the same, 5.99 and 9.99 .

TheEnigmaticT said that in one of the threads, I don't know which one, and the search engine is broken ,so you have to trust me :P
I think that GOG really need to open up the lower end of the pricing structure they have now. The only reason we don't have some classics on GOG is that they'd be twice the price here than they are elsewhere.
It looks like to me, classics are staying $5.99/$9.99.

Then indies and newer are between $14.99 to $19.99.

But for all we know, they could release Crysis or something for $24.99 next Tuesday.

I think GOG needs a $2.99 price point, for those smaller classic titles.

Well, they have them on promos. That´s the point with them. I gifted Blood twice times two weeks ago with that price. When there is a promo you buy games which you won´t buy with the ordinary one.

That was the price point I suggest in their poll for text based adventures (which really need to be on GOG, not only ZORK). But noooooooo everybody wanted new games ....

I guess it's like an element of stability amongst the turbulent waters of such a mass of games. I dunno, I got used to 6 and 10 bucks options, and not having to remember anything else was nice. :P

Ditto, I like having that sense of structure. I am sure I would get used to gog without price points though.

I can't say why really but I laughed when I read that.

I would agree though, $6 for some games here is too high.

Well... What is an "oldie"? A few weeks ago this was a philosophical question for the "It's Good OLD Games"-fraction. Now it's a financial question...

For example: Two Worlds was released on June 20, 2007. I bought it on Jun 20, 2010. It was 3 years old back then and "old" ($9.99). Assassin's Creed is nearly 4 years old and is sold as "new" game for $19.99 now.

Don't get me wrong, I'm fine with this, I can wait for the sale (even if it is the christmas sale). I never played Assassin's Creed (short: I read about Ubi's brand new DRM in part 2, so I've lost all interest in part 1) and I'm happy to see it on GOG. I can wait for "my" price.

It's just that some "old" AAA-games will jump across the "I'm a new game"-line. But without the new price points they wouldn't be here...
You got the right point. Now it's hard to tell which games will be treated as oldies, and what games will not.
