Weclock: No, I'd say Grim Fandango is very much NOT well known, Day Of The Tentacle, maybe.

phanboy4: In what circles? Certainly it is among GOG patrons.
And who really gives a crap about Metacritic? All it does is tell you what proportion of the game review industry (and it is an industry) gushed over it.
in the gamefaqs nintendo circles...
Anyway, I was kind of disappointed when I saw Indigo Prophecy on there at 89.. I was so hopeful for a second. Anyway, the score has to be above 90 clearly.
You would think it'd be a Microids game since we already have some of their stuff on GOG, but they don't appear in the 90%+ listing...
So either LucasArts IS coming to GOG, Funcom is giving us Longest Journey, or the Facebook is a lie.

Gremmi: From GoG's facebook page:
"Awesome game arriving for adventure-game fans soon! 90%+ Metacritic rating and lots of people haven't even heard of it! Hopefully that'll change."

Id say 'Psychonauts' since it is a REALLY good game, but it only got 88% metacritic.
They unfortunately answered on facebook that it wasn't Grim Fandango, and said that they were still working on those or something like that, so that excludes all Lucas Arts.

I would instantly buy if it is to be Psychonauts. Borrowed a copy from my friend and am having sooo much fun with it right now.
the only adventure games to get a 91 or higher are as follows:
12 Grim Fandango 1998 94
23 Day of the Tentacle 1993 93
53 Longest Journey, The 2000 91

Well, from the given information, it HAS to be The Longest Journey. I've certainly never heard of it (or if I have, I've forgotten about it). Since the only alternative is LucasArts, there really isn't any other option.
I was hoping it'd be Sanitarium, but that isn't even on Metacritic, more's the pity.

I dunno, we've wecrolled LA and we've shown genuine interest, maybe it's going to come quietly.

I also "borrowed" a copy... would buy at once.

Surely not that quickly!
Still, if that is the case, I wager there'll be so many cases of, well... this, that there'll suddenly be a dramatic worldwide shortage of tissue paper.

I already own the game on DVD, but I would be really happy for the wider audience it would get :D

Unfortunately, I doubt that any Lucasarts games are going to be labelled as unknown.

No, I'd say Grim Fandango would probably be unknown, because it didn't sell very well.

The odds are on Funcom though, if we're honest. They hit other DD sites way before Lucasarts. I've already got the special edition of Dreamfall (including TLJ) so it's not such great news for me.
