Pseudoman: I whish!

No, that was a typo. I meant to write (2009).
I know.
Yeah, Tron 2.0 got thoroughly retconned.

On the topic of canonical movie-tie-in video games: I think The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay and Assault on Dark Athena are considered canon as both are prequels to Pitch Black, detailing Riddick's history...

I liked Tron 2.0, and didn't find it needlessly hard. I liked how the levels had you inside different systems like a PDA or such, which changed which software (weapons/upgrades) you could run, while still letting you swap things out, not to mention the corruption system which would limit you if you played poorly, gave you a good reason to do better than just managing to survive till you found a healthup.

As for movie games. Yes Ghostbusters (2009) was supposedly the closest people would get to a proper Ghostbusters 3, and it wasn't all that bad either.

I don't know if the Chronicles of Riddick games could be considered Canon though, the plots seem to fit well with the movies.

I purposefully tend to keep away from movie tie-in games. They tend to make me sad. Usually games in a movie universe without having to follow the script. Let's face it, movies and games tend to be different mediums suitable for different stories. Only movie game which followed the plot but still was enjoyable for me would be Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade...and being an adventure game it's about as close to a movie as possible.

As far as I know, the Riddick games are indeed canon as they are both set before Pitch Black. Timeline is as follows:

Escape from Butcher Bay (game)
Assault on Dark Athena (game)
Pitch Black (film)
The Chronicles of Riddick: Dark Fury (35 minute animated film)
The Chronicles of Riddick (film)
Riddick (film)

Fever_Discordia: That said, I was always interested in giving Tron 2.0 a go because it looked like an interesting environment to FPS in, shame its only available on e-bay, piracy or a VERY lucky charity shop visit and that situation has a very low chance of changing...
It's not that good anyway. I once managed to pick it up cheap a year or two after release and was pretty disappointed, I expected more from the people who made NOLF. Then again, I'm also among those people who didn't like NOLF 2 much (while I absolutely adored the original game). And yeah, the gameplay has a few things in common with NOLF 2, IIRC some RPG elements thrown in and stuff.

Also they are better than the movies. Still, it's kinda funny to wonder about the canon in the Riddick franchise with all the plot-holes in each of the works.

There is canon besides "Vin Diesel is Space Conan" with some Dune pitched in for good measure?

Please don't insult Conan.
