Fortunately I have a very strong will which allows me to live in a reality of my own where there exists no prequel trilogy. Also no tomato juice nor Windows 8.

Go ahead, I'd appreciate it. I'm still a collector, no matter how awful the stuff is. I'll put it right next to any Spielberg or Tarantino film that may have somehow found its way into my home.

I'm a fan of both trilogies, although I should mention that I haven't watched either in quite a while. The last time I watched the original trilogy, though, I felt that the first movie (Episode IV) doesn't really fit in very well with the universe - consider how tame the Force is there compared to the rest of the movies - and that the third movie is actually pretty weak - the Ewoks are completely pointless outside of being a cute novelty, and their excessive screentime really drags down the movie. Only the second movie had weathered my expectations, and was possibly even better than I remembered.

I should rewatch both trilogies at some point. It would be interesting to see how I feel about them as an adult.

Trying to say that both trilogies aren't full of terrible plot holes, horrible voice actors and crappy dialogue is deluding yourself. Some people ARE seeing the original movies through rose-tinted glasses. The rest is all subjective opinion.

Some people just don't like the fact that the prequels were not aimed at adults. Well too bad. It's not your decision.
And they were just as terrible as the first ones.

I haven't seen all films by either director but all the ones I've seen were friggin' stupid. Some of them are enjoyable to watch but still friggin' ass stupid. There's a chance I'd like them more, though, if they weren't so incredibly overrated and if it were obvious that Spielberg and Tarantino know how stupid their films are (and I'm not talking about the deliberately stupid elements). But hey, I have weird requirements to films anyway. To me any Verhoeven or Stallone film is better than anything Spielberg or Tarantino have made or will ever be able to make.

I have rewatched IV-VI many many times. I only just barely tolerate II, and I can stomach III. Ep I will never take up space in my library. Period. Darth Maul could have been so cool, but *slice* he's gone.

I have read many dozens of the books, and am still going! The Legacy of the Force series is soooo good.

This is very true, except leave out 1. You really don't need it, everything is explained in 2! The parallels from 3 to the beginning of 6 are very very interesting.

I have GB, I didn't enjoy it as much as I did Empire At War.

See I really don't care about CGI at all. CGI has brought us massive space battles, huge space stations, space ships with parts that moved (Not just: "X-foils in locked position". Oh how fucking cute), etc. etc. If you can't move past the fact that creating a spaceship model and filming it takes a ton of time, a ton of manpower and doesn't look as real as CGI.. I can't help you.

It's a movie. And it was years ago.

I'm fine with both trilogies, but I'm partial to the lore, novels, and games. Lucas is rather terrible at actually telling a story.
