yeah, it was suprisingly good, but TIE Fighter, oh my, I was in high school when it came out, it was best thing ever XD

There are some amazingly fun user made maps with vehicles in mind. :)
When I used to play them years ago I downloaded a map pack or two. It's up there in the top regarding the most fun I've had in a FPS.

I was madly in love with Star Wars. The original three were my favorite movies of all time when I was a kid. Tthis was around '95-'98. Age 7-10. (I turn 26 in three weeks.)
To a lesser extent, I even loved The Phantom Menace, despite Jar Jar. Even as an 11-year old, I couldn't stop thinking, "Get this asshole off the screen. PLEASE!" Aside from Jar Jar and that little annoying douche, Anakin, I thought it was a really great action movie.
Then "Attack of The Clones" happened. I basically lost all interest in everything Star Wars over the course of two hours. I just couldn't stand that movie. The cheesy romance, the cheesy dialogue, the acting, the story, 3PO... And the CGI. Somehow the CGI looked significantly worse than Episode 1. There was just too much of it. My eyes couldn't take it.

I couldn't bring myself to see Episode 3. And now that it is nearly impossible to find the original, unaltered trilogy anywhere... I just don't have any interest anymore, aside from a few video games in my library.

I still enjoy Ep. 5 when I see it on TV. I actually like the special edition. I like the new livelier Cloud City.

The most amazing thing about Tie Fighter is that it holds it's own with modern day shooters and space sims and not just because of nostalgia. I still play it and it remains as good looking and fun as anything being released today.

Tried Tie Fighter when it had been out a couple years but I couldn't get anywhere. Too much like a simulation for me. Everyone tells me I missed out because I didn't have patience enough to learn it. :(

I don't think I've told you that you missed out yet. Please add me to the list.

Woa there pateesa, you forgot Battlefront 2, Jedi Academy, Galaxies and the first Lego game!

Everyone has games like that so I wouldn't worry about it.

Used to be a big Star Wars fan, but time, overexposure and the prequel trilogy kind of killed it for me. I still moderately enjoy the original trilogy (I think Empire is the only actual GOOD movie of the entire series, say 4 out of 5 stars) but not to the extent I used to. Could not stand ANY of the prequel trilogy, except for some certain scenes. Not to beat a dead horse, but Hayden Christensen was so beyond awful in both the films he was in, even worse than Jake Lloyd. The only actor in the prequel trilogy who seemed able to rise above the material to any degree was Ewan McGregor. Everyone else seemed to be sleepwalking through their roles (especially Natalie Portman, who I like very much and has proven elsewhere she can actually act) or overplaying them to startling degrees. I seem to remember the Emperor from Return of the Jedi to be very sinister, while in Revenge of the Sith he is just a cackling goofball. And I may be alone in this, but I think I would have preferred to leave Yoda's lightsaber skills to my imagination, rather than watch Yoda the Hedgehog twirl around like that. Ah well, glad others enjoy them, but they just don't hold a special place in my heart anymore.
Games, on the other hand...X-Wing, TIE Fighter, X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter, Racer, LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga, Knights of the Old Republic 1 & 2, Jedi Knight (all of them) and even Rogue Squadron and Shadows of the Empire I still enjoy to this day.

Huge fan of Star Wars and love all 6 films and Darth Maul is my favorite all-time Sith(With Revan and Vader running neck and neck as a close second)...anyone who walks in my room get's greeted with Darth Maul's staring at them from everywhere lol.

I was a big fan of the original trilogy growing up, and in my opinion the prequels don't really work because Lucas relied to much on CGI. He obviously spent some time on the script, and there are plenty of stuff to enjoy from theese movies, but there is no spontaneity in the actors play, it seems all artificial like a Pixar movie.

The first trilogy was always presented as groundbreaking in terms of special effects, and it seems that for the prequels, they had to show that they were at the forefront of the industry again, and the movies eventually suffered from it.

I admit I am not the biggest fan of animated movies. As well made as they can be, I am always left with an impression of artificiality. They don't have any flaws!
